Peterson `displayed his middle finger' to agents before arrest
SAN JOSE, Calif. - (KRT) - Driving his newly purchased maroon Mercedes and sporting bleached hair and a goatee, Scott Peterson "displayed his middle finger" to undercover agents and led them on a four-hour trip of U-turns, sudden passes and last-minute maneuvers before he was arrested, an agent testified Wednesday.
The date was April 18, 2003, the day the bodies of his wife, Laci Peterson, and unborn son were identified. They had washed up separately a week earlier along the San Francisco Bay.
After being followed by police from San Diego, where he was visiting his parents and siblings, to Orange County and back, Peterson was pulled over in the parking lot of the Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla.......

Three witnesses testified.
GREGGORY RUSSELL DEVORE
DeVore is an ultrasound expert educated at Yale University who specializes in maternal-fetal medicine. He testified for the prosecution that he believes Laci Peterson's baby probably died on Dec. 23, 2002 -- the night police believe Scott Peterson killed his pregnant wife. He bases his conclusion on an ultrasound measurement of the baby's femur, and what he considers the most accurate ultrasound -- the first one done on Laci Peterson when she was 10 weeks pregnant. Defense lawyer Mark Geragos tried to undermine DeVore's testimony because, as Geragos has said, he believes the baby was ....

Witness: Peterson baby died Christmas Eve
Excerpts From the Secretly Taped Call
Scott Peterson admitted in a secretly taped phone call Jan. 29, 2003, with Modesto police Detective Craig Grogan that he lied in a televised interview with ABCs Diane Sawyer. Here are excerpts from the call: Peterson: Well, I said theyve got me, ah, answerin a question I answered it wrong on Diane Sawyer. Sounds like I answered a question that, ah, I told you about Amber the first night and obviously you know, we both know I didnt.
Grogan: OK.

Psychic detectives, channelers and healers converge on New York City mall
NEW YORK Amid the clamor one might expect in the presence of 100 psychics offering free readings in a New York City mall, clairvoyant Noreen Renier seemed removed from the hullabaloo.
The self-proclaimed psychic detective was obviously perplexed by the endless rows of psychics and the winding lines of people queuing up in search of a little peace of mind.
"I could never do my work in an environment like this," she said, stepping outside for a break and lighting up a Capri 125. "Too much noise, too much energy flying around."
Renier was a headliner of sorts at the aptly named "Psych-Out," a gathering of the nation's foremost, or perhaps most infamous, psychic investigators, clairvoyants, seers, holistic healers and channelers.

Peterson baby died around time Laci disppeared, expert testifies
Laci Peterson's baby most likely died Dec. 23, 2002, the day before her husband reported her missing, according to an expert who testified at Scott Peterson's double murder trial today.
The date of the baby's death has become a major point of contention in the 17-week trial. Prosecutors have tried to show that the baby was still inside the eight-months-pregnant Laci Peterson when her husband allegedly murdered her. Defense attorney Mark Geragos, however, has told jurors that the baby was older possibly by several weeks when he died.
Geragos has theorized that an unknown assailant cut the baby out of Laci Peterson, then, in an effort to frame Scott Peterson, dumped the bodies in the bay near where Peterson says he went fishing on Christmas Eve 2002.
In court today in Redwood City, Dr. Greggory DeVore, called by the prosecution as an expert in maternal fetal medicine, said he had calculated the age of Laci Peterson's baby by comparing the size of his femur at death to earlier ultrasounds conducted on the fetus......

D.A. focuses on defendant's pattern of lies
Even under national scrutiny Scott Peterson continued to tell lie after lie about his extramarital affair, his police cooperation and how he was coping with the loss of his pregnant wife, prosecutors tried to show Tuesday.
For months Peterson had been lying to his secret girlfriend, then to police as they searched for Laci Peterson. But when investigators caught him in a series of lies told to newswoman Diane Sawyer and to two local reporters during televised interviews, Modesto police Detective Craig Grogan was more convinced than ever that Peterson killed his wife and unborn child in the days before Christmas 2002.
"You and I both know what happened to Laci," Grogan told Peterson on Jan. 29, 2003, after viewing two installments of Sawyer's "Good Morning America" interview.

Expert: Peterson fetus died near Christmas Eve
REDWOOD CITY Scott and Laci Petersons unborn son appears to have died around Christmas Eve 2002, a fetal expert testified Wednesday, dealing a blow to a defense theory that the baby grew to full-term.
Also, Scott Peterson raised his middle finger to an undercover state agent as a team of about 10 vehicles shadowed him on a 160-mile loop through Southern California the day he was arrested, the agent testified.
Peterson along with others in court laughed Wednesday after the state Department of Justice agent recounted the incident. Prosecutor Rick Distaso had asked the agent what the gesture meant, prompting a defense objection.
The jury has to draw their own inferences, Judge Alfred Delucchi responded, triggering the laughs.
But much of Wednesdays testimony in Petersons double-murder trial dealt with the somber business of determining how old his son was when he died.......
Agent: Peterson altered look, tried to elude police
REDWOOD CITY, California (AP) -- Scott Peterson altered his appearance and loaded his car with cash in the days before he was charged with murdering his pregnant wife, an agent with the state Department of Justice testified.
Special Agent Alex Quick, who tailed Peterson just before his arrest on April 18, 2003, a few days after the bodies of his wife and her fetus were found, testified Wednesday at Peterson's double-murder trial.
Quick, one of up to 10 agents who followed Peterson, told jurors that the former fertilizer salesman had altered his appearance, bleaching his dark hair and eyebrows blonde and growing a thick goatee........

"Is that supposed to be ME?"
What a lying creep. He looks a little light in the loafers to me. IMHO.
Maybe he has so many affairs to deny his true feelings of being a closet homosexual.
She wanted the child, so even by pro abortion standards it was a baby, not a fetus. I know that isn't the issue here, but it's the constant hammering by the media that dulls peoples senses to what an unborn baby is. If Pelosi and Boxer had their way Peterson could not be charged with killing his own son.
You know, you're not the first person who's wondered about the "light in the loafters" issue. Actually, it would make sense. He seems to have no regard for women, and his mother seems (at least to me) like the classic overbearing mother that so many of those guys have. (And remember, he needed viagra to, um, perform with his women.)
APPEARING is right! He was still in faker mode from the Sawyer interview, realized he effed-up, and thought he should do some damage control.
You know, when they show close-ups of him, I have been looking closer. I hate to say this, but his mouth looks suspect to me. There is always some little characteristic of individuals that seem to stand out.
IMHO, he is using women to deny his true self. I think he is gay and doesn't want to admit it.
LOL...I am hearing that the jury is paying real close attention to all this latter testimony from the DA.....
Oh, and should note, that on the radio show with Nancy Grace, that Chris stated that you could feel 'murder' in the court room... Meaning, that the jurors are not knowing this case is not just show tactics, it is 2 people whose lives were cut short from them.
Portrait of a concerned husband desperately searching for his missing, pregnant wife.
I know, I think those liberal journalists can't help themselves, and say, IT WAS BABY CONNER!!!
Yes the FEMALE DA! ~chuckle!
Just like Richard Allen Davis did on the Polly Klass kidnapping/murder upon his conviction in court, before the news cameras!
I heard something about that way back when. Funny how they sweep that stuff under a rug, eh?
Tears still well up in my eyes when they show her picture in her black dress and holding her belly and she is all smiles. Then last night, they showed Connors crib. It's a bit much for me. Connor would be going on a year old now.
Good ole Victor/Victoria. ROFL!
Exactly!
Perhaps Snotty will do the same upon his conviction.
