Why women are edging toward Bush
A growing group of 'security moms' puts national safety at the top of their list, weakening a traditionally Democratic base.
By Linda Feldmann | Staff writer of The Christian Science Monitor
WASHINGTON Amid all the strategizing and message-mongering and imagemaking of the 2004 campaign, all aimed at attracting various demographic groups, one stark fact has risen to the top: President Bush has made serious inroads with women voters, to the point where, in some polls, he is beating Democrat John Kerry among females. If that trend holds, Bush will almost surely win reelection. Democrats have long held an edge among women voters, a slight majority of the electorate, and grown to count on them to offset the Republicans' persistent advantage among men. Traditionally, women have given extra care to issues that favor Democrats, such as healthcare, education, and Social Security. Now, the war on terror - and the way Bush is playing it - appears to have shifted that calculation somewhat.

I think they just find him more attractive.
Long lived?
About a month and a half will be fine
Game over, if this is true.
"I think they just find him more attractive."
Amen! That pic of him in his Guard uniform does him NO harm... Even woman stupid enough to be a Clinton soccer moms have to admit Bush has it all over Kerry.
Plus, Bush wins in the "flightsuit" factor.
Anyone with eyesight or hearing, even if they are uninformed soccer moms, can see who is the real man in this race.
He is awfully good looking.
I think it is because women have brains, too.
I wouldn't be surprised to see that this "Security mom" demographic began to emerge after the Beslan massacre.
This is the danger kerry faces in making this election all about Iraq as he and his minions in the MSM have tried to do the last week... Sure, it's a base-rattler, but I think it might play into some of Bush's strengths too... When was the last time a dem won on the issue of national security? Hell, nixon won in '72 during 'Nam!!
I suppose '64 and '44 are the last times...
Doncha just love the objective, unbiased media?
Dan
Not according to Kelly "you are very, very handsome" Ripa and Larry "matinee-idol handsome" Sabato. I think they've been smoking too much sweet leaf!
Matinee-idol handsome
Eh . . . Matinee-idol handsome
Kerry's flip-flopping doesn't make him the kind of man you would want to depend on protecting you.
