Let's stop refighting the Vietnam War on the campaign trail and refight it where it'll do some good: in Vietnam. That's right, let's stop mucking around and just ... reinvade Vietnam.
I don't know if you've been listening lately, but it turns out we're pretty obsessed with the place.
People don't talk this much about Vietnam even in Vietnam. I feel bad for Iraq. Usually when a war gets that little attention, it involves Africans. We Americans need to work out our Vietnam "issues," and like all nuanced, complicated questions, there's really just one simple answer, and it drops from the belly of a plane. Sorry, Vietnam, but if we can have preemptive war, we can have postmortem war.
Remember what Dick Cheney says: America must make no distinction between terrorists and those who harbor them -- and those who do not!
Now, some of you are saying, Bill, we can't bomb Vietnam. Who's going to make our sneakers? [snip]
That's why they call it Vietnam. I know that we didn't win it last time -- but we will this time because, if you read the papers, you'll see that since Vietnam we've mastered this whole guerrilla insurgency thing. Plus, Vietnam doesn't have any weapons of mass destruction or any links to 9/11 or any ties to Al-Qaida. They're practically asking for it!
But this isn't about them anyway. It's about us, and our need for closure and completion and all that other stuff Dr. Phil talks about.
This will allow us to move forward, into a shining future, so that decades from now, the president -- whichever of the Bush twins it is -- can say: Our national nightmare is truly over. Vietnam is behind us. Now let's go kick the heck out of Peru.

Translation: "Why can't we all please vote for Kerry."
"...just ... reinvade Vietnam."
What he is really saying is "...look at me, I don't read books!"

Bill Maher is a total waste of air and hair. This week he made jokes about Americans and others being beheaded in Iraq.

Democraps want to stop talking about Vietman ONLY because their candidate is becoming a laughing stock over the issue.
Gaaaaahhhhh
Imgine what a better place the world would be without those 4 idiots.
Bill is truley an asshole!
Sure why not, hasn't our cutting and running left enough hundreds of thousands of dead?
Bill is truley an asshole!
Bump
Somebody please set off a loud alarm bell the minute Maher says ANYTHING even remotely funny.
No wonder all these so called "comedians" like Maher, and Al Franken became left-wing political hatchet men. Its because they had no future as actual comedians.
You nailed it. They loved Vietnam while Kerry was a 'hero' and Bush was 'AWOL'. Not that the truth is emerging, they want to put it aside. Can we classify this as another flip-flop from the mushy left?
Leave me out of that "we," please. It was a moot issue until aging antiwar activists started trying to relive their golden days through the Kerry campaign. It was a fun issue until - mirabile dictu! - the guys who laid down for a thrashing in the 70s started to hit back. Now it's not so much fun anymore and guys like Maher want it to go away. And it will. On 3 November.
I am all for letting legumes be legumes, but Kerry has to pay for what he did.
the collective IQ of the RATS would prolly jump up 50 points!!!
Ah, Bill Maher. He's got an ego as big as his nose, and a writing talent as small as his penis.
LOL....Billy Maher is a talking zit
