To get back on their game, the Bush/Cheney campaign is going to its bread at butter--humorously teasing John Kerry by mocking his personality and attacking his consistency--with a new ad, reports Karen Travers of ABC News.
The spot is called 'Windsurfing.'
The ad, which will join the Bush/Cheney 2004 ad rotation on national cable and local markets in battle ground states, looks at John Kerry's record on a varity of issues and concludes with this zinger: 'John Kerry, whichever way the wind blows.'
Its safe to assume television will be greeted with images of the Democratic nominee in spandex, a campaign offical said, and the ad will feature Strauss' 'Blue Danube Waltz' as background music.
Senator Kerry's late August windsurfing excursion has given the VP and Lynne Cheney a new favorite joke on the campaign trail.
The two banter like Nick and Jessica on their variety show, with the Vice President joking that Lynne thinks John Kerry should stick to windsurfing instead of policy.

If the NYTimes is saying the speech was a flop, then it must've been a win win for Bush. Hubby did not see/hear the whole speech, but from what he did see/hear, he was impressed. He even likened what Bush is doing to the UN to what Reagan did to the Soviet Union. The UN's days are numbered.
"The memory of driving one of these boats in Nam is seared into my memory and when I am president there will be one of these in every garage."
the ad is a good one -- and it reinforces to people that they do not want this strange-looking, ugly man in their living rooms for 4 years.
Brilliant. I'm sure Kerry windsurfing off Nantucket and his multi-million dollar mansion will really make Blacks feel like he's a brother..
A Swift Boat In Every Marina! Leave No Millionaire Swift Boat Owner Behind!
That sounds absolutely hilarious.
Or in this case, humorous mockery.
Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a powerful speech that took no prisoners. Just get ready for the spin from the Left.

I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
LOL!
Any time.
from the article: "two of America's leading news organizations (who poll together) are about to release some horserace numbers that are going to suggest a tight race and tease out the 'Kerry closes the gap with momentum' storyline for which the mainstream press hungers. (As Joe Lockhart would say, EVERYONE in Washington knows about these numbers)

I wonder which polls are showing the "closing of gap" and what not.
I do not understand how the UN speach was a lead ballon. I thought it was great. Rush was right. Had it been Clinton or anyone else, it would have been an "incredible" speach.
I wonder what stratgery the Bush people have to push the lead back out. I guess I was hoping to see a Kerry implosion based on what he has been saying and acting (dont tell me the letterman performance was good, it was painful).
Best of all, though, we still have the debates coming up. Of course the interesting trick in there is that the debate commission does not want to sign documents saying they will stick to rules. Fascinating.
We still have to clear up who is behind the files from the Kerry camp..
I'm howling at the mental images - I can hardly wait to see the real thing!
