To get back on their game, the Bush/Cheney campaign is going to its bread at butter--humorously teasing John Kerry by mocking his personality and attacking his consistency--with a new ad, reports Karen Travers of ABC News.
The spot is called 'Windsurfing.'
The ad, which will join the Bush/Cheney 2004 ad rotation on national cable and local markets in battle ground states, looks at John Kerry's record on a varity of issues and concludes with this zinger: 'John Kerry, whichever way the wind blows.'
Its safe to assume television will be greeted with images of the Democratic nominee in spandex, a campaign offical said, and the ad will feature Strauss' 'Blue Danube Waltz' as background music.
Senator Kerry's late August windsurfing excursion has given the VP and Lynne Cheney a new favorite joke on the campaign trail.
The two banter like Nick and Jessica on their variety show, with the Vice President joking that Lynne thinks John Kerry should stick to windsurfing instead of policy.

New polls coming today supposedly showing a tighening of the race..national polls, not battleground states
That would be consistent with them showing Kerry falling behind a good bit so they can show a surge beginning for him as the election nears and people make their final choice....

The ad is up at the georgewbush.com site. It's hillarious!
It's almost as good as Dukakis in the tank.

I guess this is the (only) disadvantage of NOT living in a battleground state... oh well, will just have to watch it on the net.

To get back on their game, the Bush/Cheney campaign...I wasn't aware they were off their game.
At any rate, this ad sounds hilarious.

Yeah, the privileged son, what about the privileged husband. What does an FBI agent and a gigolo have in common?
Occasionally they have to do some undercover work.

Polling rumors are in the same link above further down in the ABC Note. I heard the rumor that Gallup will show Bush at 58%.

The mainstream media desperately wants the race to tighen, you can see it in their writing..but Kerry is such a stiff, it just might never happen!

I guess that is what we on FR just don't pick up on fast enough because we stick in our own little world here. The past few days have been seen as a big 'win' for Kerry by the media. NY Times blasted Bush today for his 'lead balloon' of a speech at the UN. All the tools of the media will start to trumpet Kerry's new 'resolve' just as the heads literally roll in Iraq.
The CBS debacle will turn into an internal thing with Mapes falling on the sword to protect her precious friends in the DNC. Be ready for the polls to tighten soon. Perception is reality with most casual observers and this is no time to be complacent about a lead. The media has been wounded and will fight back to shape perception.
