I watched his brother being intervewed on Fox News by John Scott this morning. It was so very sad. He explained how his brother had been over there to help the people rebuild Iraq, how he was working for a Middle Eastern company, and how it had been increasingly hard for them to get and keep guards where they were living. One of the guards had told his brother just days before they were abducted, that he believed they were being watched. Towards the end of the interview he broke down, and it tore my heart out. I couldn't help but cry with him. He mentioned a website for his brother's widow and daughter. I'm sorry, but I had my TV on mute and was reading the captions. I didn't get the URL for the website. Right now they are just trying to cope with this horrid event.

A short while ago Laura Ingraham mentioned that Hensley's brother had been on the Today Show this morning and was interviewed by Katie Colic. As usual, she had to bring in politics by asking him what his feelings were now about the war in Iraq. He refused to be sucked into it though and said that at the moment the family is filled with emotion over what happened and that for now, he would continue to believe the way he did before this all happened.

This is extremely sad. I heard on the radio the other day that he had a math degree from UNCC. I teach at UNCC and my dad taught math here so I feel a personal connection to this. It is heartbreaking, and my prayers go out to his family.

I just saw the video of Hensley's beheading. These bastards are getting more devious, if that is possible, with their tapes. Now they start off with pictures of the victim during happier times. They did the same for the video of Bigley begging for his life.

I know that some people do not have the stomach to watch these tapes and I don't think it's necessary, but for me, it is a way to show respect and a way to mourn their death. I don't understand how these terrorist think beheading innocent people will help their cause.

However ... I do begin to wonder why it is not possible to storm the office of Al Jazeera and demand their source at gunpoint. Journalistic freedom does not apply to institutions that are actively aiding and abbetting our enemies. We should be able to reverse the video source path back to these thugs and wipe them out.

I watch the videos out of a belief that it somehow honors their death, yet the horror is so great I can hardly wrap my brain around what I am seeing. How Bush and his team watch these executions and still refrain from turning the whole country to glass is beyond me.

We need to get non-military Americans out of the country. We can not continue to leave ourselves and our citizens vulnerable to these psycho/sociopaths. If our citizens remain, we've got to do a better job of protecting them.

We need to double our military and inteligence presence. Obviously there is a lot of work left to be done. Right now Iraq seems like a terrorist magnet so let's get enough of us over there to hunt them down and kill them all. The Iraqis aren't ready, don't care and/or too scared to do the job. Sounds like Viet Nam. God help us if we waffle on a fight like that again.

How is it that no one over there knows anything about where these criminals are hiding?! I don't believe it. Are they that scared or do they just not give a damn?
