Thanks for posting the reply. It's good their feet were held to the fire.
Can't hurt for others to make their feelings known, forcefully but tactfully.
Frog, meet pot of warm water.
Parental expectations are low because THEY were educated by the same establishment.
The education establishment didn't start out in the early 1900s teaching kids that tolerance for homosexuals was more important than being able to spell homosexual. It was a gradual process. It takes time to properly prepare the masses to be good sheep.
Shalom.
The apologies are nice. If Stoudt had offended homosexuals in this manner, do you think apologies would suffice?
Stoudt needs to attend a diversity reeducation camp or resign if he wants to satisfy me.
What? There are no diversity reeducation programs to help people learn to appreciate homeschoolers? I'm shocked. SHOCKED!
Shalom.

Amen!!!
Anti-homeschooling bigots strike again

The public school establishment hates homeschoolers. They've smeared the movement as a conspiracy of conservative Christian zealots. They've scoffed at homeschooled kids as social pariahs. They've painted homeschooling parents as uneducated and negligent.
And now, under the guise of preparing students for a violent terrorist attack, educators in one public school district are casting homeschoolers in the role of bomb-detonating militants. The story about a mock terrorism drill involving a local school district in the Muskegon Chronicle starts out innocently enough:
"Local school district transportation directors instigated the exercise because they wanted to test their abilities to respond to emergencies, said Tom Spoelman, transportation consultant for the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District. They eventually hooked up with Muskegon County Emergency Services, and planning for the event has been under way for about a year, Spoelman said.
"The exercise will test not only school transportation directors, but also the Muskegon County Emergency Operations Plan, which involves many agencies throughout the county. "About 60 middle and high school students from Reeths-Puffer and Whitehall public schools will be part of the exercise, according to Kristin Tank, public information coordinator for the MAISD. Local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, human service agencies, transportation services and medical services will participate. Students from Muskegon Community College and Reeths-Puffer will assist in applying makeup to add to the reality of the gruesome scene. Between 200 and 300 people will observe the exercise, including school bus drivers, school administrators, emergency personnel and evaluators from agencies across the state who will provide feedback."
What's jaw-droppingly unbelievable is the next paragraph describing the attackers in the simulation:
"The exercise will simulate an attack by a fictitious radical group called Wackos Against Schools and Education who believe everyone should be homeschooled. Under the scenario, a bomb is placed on the bus and is detonated while the bus is traveling on Durham, causing the bus to land on its side and fill with smoke."
This is not a joke. A taxpayer-funded drill is using public school students to enforce anti-homeschooling bigotry under the guise of preparing for terrorism.

Thanks for your post.
Our middle child (aged 8) is having problems at school with some other pupils. The school has been made aware of this for some time but have done nothing to deal with it.
Now he is starting to assert himself and is fighting back the school is trying to tell us he has "social problems" (ie when he sat quietly soaking it up & being made miserable, no action required but now he's sticking up for himself and the teachers have the problem of dealing with it, he has "social problems").
I asked his headmistress to separate him from the two kids that bully him at the end of last school year but she refused ("don't want to break up friend groups")
I'm seeing the headmistress this afternoon and if she tries to blame him again or attempts to fob me off I'm taking him out of the school.
I've been calling around other schools seeing if there's a place available but having read your post I'm going to look into home schooling.
The public school establishment hates homeschoolers.
Ring a bell?
This scenario is so loathsome that someone at the top should be fired.
Thank you for that post. Glad to see they "got the message".
The day I pulled my kids out of public school will live forever in my memory for the profound sense of relief we all felt.No more trying to fit into a dysfunctional system. No more arguing with teachers and administrators who really weren't interested. No more the boredom of sitting in class doing work at the level of the slowest students. The kids still thank me, 6 years later, for doing it.
I urge you to consider it. I didn't know if I could, but there is so much help available that it really isn't too hard.
Our oldest will finish High School this Spring, a year early, with a top-notch education and a real grasp on the adult world.
Sometimes its true. My parents are "homeschooling" their 16 yr old, and he is in far worse shape than he was when he was in school. His mom has an 8th grade education, and the dad neglects tutoring him, even though he has a h.s. diploma.
Homeschooling isn't for everyone. It is light-years more work and dedication than what is required to send them to public school.
Home school ping!

For your children's sake, look seriously at teaching your own children at home. While it's not for everyone, many more people could make choices permitting schooling at home (it's not necessarily cheaper than private education, though), but you get out what you put in.
Exactly right.
Alot of parents are too absorbed in their busy life experience to see what's going on, and many are the product of the same indoctrination.
High taxes that almost necessitate the need for 2 incomes coupled with the Dr. Spock spare the rod spoil the child approach to child-rearing have unfortunately created millions of spoiled, selfish, undereducated and non-free-thinking PC sheeple.
You bet it won't. They are probably getting a lot of flack. This story has been all over the internet and most homeschoolers are well connected in that regard. Because the exercise involved federal funds, I also contacted my congressman and senators.
identify the problems with the local government schools:
1. Children
2. Parents.
That's pretty much it - when the children refuse to study or work and back-talk the teacher, the parents swoop in with lawyers to prevent any consequences. They did forget to mention 3. spineless crooked Administrators.
While I enjoyed my time teaching, I've heard far too many horror stories to consider it as a career.
The practice of law would be wonderful if it weren't for all these clients with all these problems!
