As some of you may know The Body Shop gave $75,000 to a group advocating a Palestinian "right to return", a term synonymous with the PLO effort to destroy Israel.

Dear Customer,
The Body Shop does not have a position on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.
The four winners of the 2002 Human Rights Award, including the National Committee for the Defence of the Rights of the Internally Displaced, were chosen by an independent jury, including international human rights experts, for being the best examples of peaceful grassroots activism on the issue of housing within a human rights framework, regardless of their religion, ethnicity or nationality.
The Body Shop supports the integrity of the Award jury and the robustness of the selection process but played no direct role in choosing the winners themselves, other than providing four of the 14 jury members, of which the Chair has always been an independent member.
The Body Shop is committed to the issue of human rights in a number of ways. For example, through The Body Shop Foundation, the company gives support to a broad range of small grassroots organisations, which are at the forefront of positive social and environmental change. This support is given for people of all races, gender, nationality and ethnic groups, without prejudice, and based on criteria including a project's demonstration of commitment, vision and sound management.
Best Regards, The Body Shop
Bye bye Body Shop purchases...
More than you ever wanted to know about the Body Shop can be found here: http://www.jonentine.com/body_shop.htm
Well, I can't argue with the PLO's commitment. Vision and sound management are another story.
Oh no, now I have to give up my Body Butter. I wonder where I can find an acceptable substitute.
Geez, first Heinz ketchup, now this. Thank God for Free Markets.

OH NO........I was going there in the morning!!
Pork fat... It rules.
I quit shopping there years and years ago when I learned of their leftist agenda. It would be like buying my lotion at Marxist.com...
Which VCs are funding that one?
What a crap response. They give money to the cause without regard to the righteousness of the cause, and then defend the choice by saying that they are not responsible for the choice?
We know what's going on here. The Body Shop is throwing money at a left wing cause for PR purposes and doesn't really care about the process or the cause. For shame.
Anyhow, I don't buy their crap at The Body Shop. There are much better skin products on the market with much more thoughtful and effective formulations.
I quit shopping at Body Shop when I heard the owner diss W over the Iraq war.
