You are starting to take this to a very personal level. I've read many of MarMema's posts in this forum - she is a strong contributer and often talks sensibly. I personally feel offended that you would imply she is a morally bankrupt charlatan.
I don't think most reasonable people here in this forum come even close to buying into your "Russia is still the Soviet Union" ideology. The simple fact is that the Soviet Union is dead. You can whine all you want about ex-communists running the show, but the fact is that everyone with even a hint of political experience in that country is an ex-communist. That's what you get when a single political party dominates a system for 80 years. Not everyone who belonged to the Communist party was ideologically a dyed-in-the-wool communist anyway - more often than not, people were coerced into it if they were to have any standing in Soviet society.
The biggest fact that flies in the face of your ideology is the fact that Christianity, and the Orthodox Church in particular, is absolutely thriving throughout Russia. If the Soviets were still in control in the background, they certainly would not have allowed THAT, of all things, to happen. It also seems far from likely that they would allow capitalist concepts like a flat tax to thrive as well, seeing as such things promote a strong capitalist society and, as an extension, freedom.
Perhaps you will turn on me and start calling me names as you have to others who have dared to disagree with your rhetorical nonsense. I can't say that I much care. I am just tired of sitting around while you go around dragging the names of good FReepers through the mud.
As for your "remnants", you might be better served seeking them elsewhere. This is a serious political forum: we don't have much room for kooky conspiracy theories here.
Problem is: what you confront most people with is not new or startling but disproven conspiratorial junk. Do you still await the Russian/Soviet/Uliminati/Alien invasion on Y2K or is it now Y2K+10?
