I tend to agree with you about Libertarians.
I reread my comment and realized I should have specifically said, "I agree that Libertarians roam the Free Republic pages."

Free Republic began as a staunchly conservative web community but has been drawing a broader base of "Freepers," including libertarians, gays, practicing pagans and others attracted to its interactive forums of "netizens" often well-versed in history and equipped with dry humor. One wonders. Could they be referring to the Cult of Saint Abe that is active on this forum?

Could they be referring to the Cult of Saint Abe that is active on this forum?Maybe, but they then note they're "often well-versed in history". Ixnay on the cult. If they had said "brainwashed" it would have been ok.

Contrast that with DU, which is filled with rustlers, cutthroats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, half-wits, dim-wits...I like to think of myself as a "political bounty-hunter," thank you very much < /HA! I Kill Me > "Will Write for Ammo" is my motto.

Reuters posits that American journalism may never be the sameAnd here I thought we were just having fun. Instead, we've apparently changed the world.
Doug, I am feeling a song parody coming on- do you know "the night they drove old dixie down?" by The Band? I think you could apply that to us- "the night Free Republic drove the old media down...." :)

I've tripped over them in the general news section... They've been around awhile. You would probably recognize some of their Freep names.
