"USA TODAY has a copy of the phony documents, as well as two more, also likely phony.
USA TODAY was had too, and wants its pound of flesh."

The other two ARE phony. The first one in the set doesn't even bother with trying to forge a Killian signature, and has an 01 day military date.

USAT should come clean about its own forged set. They have the chance for an inside scoop here. Why are they holding back?

I don't trust USA Today either. That rag out Michael Moron the front page, above the fold, touting his F911 screed. it never occured to them it was BS.

This story by USA Today is meant to stop the bleeding. It is total misdirection. Burkett, Mapes and Lockhart will take the fall. Rather may even retire, but CBS and the DNC cannot ever admit complicity. Therefore Burkett admits he wanted access to the DNC, but couldn't get through. CBS would act as a broker allowing access to the DNC. This allows the DNC to admit they received the documents in August, but knew they were fake and ignored them. CBS and Rather are not the target. The DNC was involved and we have to prove it. Who forged the documents?
