Wham Bam (sKerry) Thank You Mam ! or should I say Slam Wham Bam Blather Dan.....!
For their own survival, they've got to investigate this. Sumner Redstone, CEO of Viacom, must have seen this coming, as he sold $12 million worth of Viacom stock last week.
Bingo.
I'm really angry about this too...I keep thinking about how CBS (60 minutes--Sunday night edition) scheduled that ex Bush official, Richard Clarke, who published a book that trashed Condi Rice and implied that GW was apathetic to the threat of terrorism right before his testimony to the 9/11 commission...it appears that CBS in its enthusiam to try to destroy President Bush has actually put our national secuirity at risk by falsifying information and playing politics with our security...I live in Brooklyn about 2 miles from the WTC...still feel pretty vulnerable...damn them.
After the election, they're going to reach for their guns to set things right - only to realize, to their horror, that they HATE guns, and don't have any. ;-)
Carl Bernstain and Bob Woodward have spent thirty years working to make sure that no Democrat scandal surpasses Watergate.
Has CBS applied for 527 status yet?
This would make a great movie. Who's going to write and produce "All the Candidate's Men"?

Burkett is now saying he received the documents from a mysterious stranger at the Houston Livestock Show.
CHECK OUT THE NEW MSM
I certainly dont have a scientific survey here, but I have TIVO and I have noticed an instant change (at least in my feeble, pajama-clad mind).
Most nights, during evening news shows, there is coverage of the days campaign activities. Almost always, there is a report about where Kerry is, what he said, etc. followed by a quick blurb about President Bushs response to Kerrys crap of the day.
In the last 48 hours, I am seeing more and more of Bush first, Kerry second and rather than the tight shots on the President (vs. wide shots with huge crowd shots) of Kerry
things are looking a little more equal.
Follow it with me. Watch the shows and see if its my imagination or if you guys see the same thing. We should be able to check them all
hell, we dont do anything but sit around in PJs anyway.
Fight the good fight. Good guys really do win!
In the meantime, we are close to a media meltdown of Chernobyl proportions.
This story by USA Today is meant to stop the bleeding. It is total misdirection. Burkett, Mapes and Lockhart will take the fall. Rather may even retire, but CBS and the DNC cannot ever admit complicity. Therefore Burkett admits he wanted access to the DNC, but couldn't get through. CBS would act as a broker allowing access to the DNC. This allows the DNC to admit they received the documents in August, but knew they were fake and ignored them. CBS and Rather are not the target. The DNC was involved and we have to prove it. Who forged the documents?
This story is going to the election wire, unless the real source of the forgeries comes forward real soon. I don't think that will happen too quickly. TSo, this story keeps going and giving, pushing Bush higher, pushing Kerry lower. It won't be over in a week.
Bingo!
Good grief - what BS. Couldn't he just lift his shirt for beads like the rest of us?
Dan Rather has been waiting his whole life to break a story this big, and instead it broke him.
So how would that work? Either the CBS producer called Joe Lockhart and said, "Hey there's a nice fellow here who said he would give us damaging information on Bush on the condition that we can get him in touch with a honcho at the DNC." Or she just called and said." I am a CBS producer and there's a fellow we know who wants to talk to someone high up in the DNC. But don't ask me why... just talk to him.
Can the DNC and CBS collude like that? Can they DO that?
efhmc needs a karmic hug. ;)
