XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX MON SEPT 20, 2004 20:02:09 ET XXXXX
BUSH OFFICIALS WANT CBSNEWS MODERATOR OFF DEBATE Just hours after CBSNEWS admitted it cannot prove the authenticity of documents used in a 60 MINUTES story about President Bush's National Guard service, top Bush advisers are recommending a CBS reporter be removed as moderator of a planned presidential debate, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
At question is the approved Oct. 13 debate at Arizona State University in Tempe with Bob Schieffer, chief Washington correspondent for CBSNEWS, moderating.
"Considering the circumstances, we should definitely ask that Schieffer be replaced," a top Bush adviser told the president on Monday, according to a well-placed source.
The well-placed source continued: "Who can trust these CBS people to play it straight [during the debate]? I suspect they will be out for revenge."
The president is said to have not made any decision whether to seek a removal of the planned CBSNEWS moderator.

Anyone besides me see a comparison between the Corrupt CEO's and Blather?
Is there anyway we can give him the same treatment?

Mr. President, will you apologize to the American people for going to War with Iraq even though WMD weren't found and 1000+ of young American soldiers died in Iraq!" BE WARNED, those are the type of questions W will have to face and unfortunately answer! The RATs will have their plants there with all sorts of inflammatory questions...yikes! I don't think they are allowed to ask that type of openly biased question.
The questions have to be formatted so that both candidates can answer.

Bush is patient. "And we will bring justice to our enemies at a time of our choosing"...Hope that applies to some of these RATs.

Best headline I've read for a long time!!!!!

They needed to demand this *before* agreeing to three debates. They could have used the leverage to get one moderator tossed from the lineup.
I still like the idea of offering to have the CBS moderator replaced by someone from Al Jazeera. Even if the AJ moderator makes a circus of the debate with wild accusations, it will only HELP Bush in the polls since he'll sound just like the leftist Bush haters.

"The time is NOW!"
Absolutely right!! The momentum is definitely with the conservatives on many fronts. Here in SD I get a feeling that there is the scent of blood in the water over Daschle.
Nationally, people would back a punishment of CBS.
The time is NOW!

OK, every time I see this picture, I think - I have NEVER seen a dorky picture of President Bush, and yet nearly every picture I have seen of Kerry is pretty bad. Is it reverse bias, or are some people simply incapable of looking bad on film? So I ask you all - are there any dorky pictures of Bush available? What's the worst one you can find? Then let's compare it to any one of Kerry's and solve this mystery.

RE: Britt Hume. He would be great. I think Jim Angle or Fred the Beatle Barnes or Tony Blankley would make a good backup too!

Since CBS is the subject of late night jokes, I'm in favor of them moderating a debate.
Agreed. What do you prefer: Bush winning a CBS debate, or Bush winning a Hume debate?

I don't know about looking at any Kerry pics... But I could look at pics like this of the President all day long!

Once it is debated in public opinion so even more people are aware of their questionable credibility, They'll then accept the CBS moderator and use it to their advantage.
"Well Bob, I'm not sure who faxed you that question, but I'll tell ya..."

When you have your enemy down, you keep kicking them.
YES!
So few righteous people understand this necessity of securing freedom.
I mean, what better time to kick to forces of evil than when you have them down?

The Republican leadership basically has rocks in its demented little head. OF COURSE no CBS employee has any business moderating a Presidential debate.
I am terrified that Bush will ignore reasonable advice and be a "nice guy," allowing this CBS troll to fix one of the three debates.

OK, I went through a few hundred pictures on-line, and this is the very worst I could do - the only one where he wasn't some combination of regal, dignified, solemn, stalwart, or the peniultimate leader:
Here (looks like it won't post)
And this one just makes me want to laugh with him.
To: lunatic12
Letting Dan Rather participate in that debate would be like letting Osama Bin Laden count the ballots in Iraq's upcoming elections.

No one from CBS or CNN should be allowed in the room.
