Well, I guess JFK won't be winning Gore's home state either.

I thought KKKerry might have a chance in TN, but it went as fast to Bush as the EC stands today, Bush 313EV and Kerry 225EV.

After this CBS smoke starts clearing, Bush may have a 16 point lead in the entire U.S.

I hope this election gives a firm rebuke to the Democrats' incessant negativity and pessimism.

FWIW, current quotes from Iowa Electronic Market:

DEM04 - 0.384 (down 0.068 since 8/30)
REP04 - 0.610 (up 0.061 since 8/30)

Actually this is NOT good news. By taking Tenn out of play the Kerry campaign now has additional ad money freed up to use during the last week of the campaign to try to win Massachusetts.

John F'nn Kerry needs to get Ted Kennedy to go to Tennessee and campaign for him. That'll help him a whole bunch. :)

I would rather the Democrats continue living in Fantasyland:

"John Kerry's popularity isn't falling, it's just that his appeal is becoming more selective..."

Kerry never had a chance in Tennessee. This state has only given a majority of its vote to a 'Rat presidential candidate twice since 1948. Once was the Johnson landslide of 1964. The other time was when Jimmy Carter wooed the southern conservative Democrats back to the 'Rat party in 1976 by running as a southern conservative.

Clinton carried the state in both 1992 & 1996, but with vote totals in the mid-40's. Gore boosted the ticket from the low 40's up to the mid-40's, and Perot dragged the GOP ticket down to just below the 'Rat total. Without a strong third party taking votes from the GOP, even Gore's home state status wasn't enough to carry Tennessee for him in 2000.

Kerry never had a chance here, even in one's wildest imagination.
