What a phony!!!
and you reposted the complete text of the article of this thread because ....?
"Just because he lies, it doesn't mean that he's not an honest man." - Dan Blather on the prevarications of Bill Clinton.
He should have sayd "THESE DOCUMENTS ARE FORGERIES". Instead he says he no longer has confidence in them. He should have said "I'm sorry for all the damage these memos did to the President, to Killian's family, and all of America in general." Instead, he apologizes for his error in judgment. What an absolute jerk, and a joke of a journalist.
rather and cbs is history. they are no longer if they ever were a liable source.
dan, Texas is ashamed your from Texas!
What happened to their "UNIMPEACHABLE SOURCE" as Danny put it last week. Why did Danny believe the source was unimpeachable last week and now this week is impeachable? What are the details? Is the unimpeachable source a crippled vietnam vet rolling around in support of the Kerry Campaign? Is the unimpeachable source Max Cleland Kerry campaign operative.
We here always knew it wasn't Karl Rove. The fact than Dan Blather didn't give up the source in a hearbeat was proof positive no republican had anything to do with it.
I believe Killian gave the forgeries to Cleland, and Cleland was Rather's "unimpeachable source" that they continue to protect because he is a Kerry Campaign staffer/operative.
Gary
Is this one of the guys that Al Fraken wrote his book on.
"The lying liars, and the lies they tell. :)
The only thing he knows now that he didn't know then is that no one believed him from the get go.
WHERE is the apology to President Bush??
Apology NOT accepted. Come clean, Dan, fully clean.
Rush points out what is missing is anger. If one is truly deceived one is angry.
As most of us suspect, CBS was a willing accomplice in this fraud, so no surprised there's no apology to GWB (you know Rather stands by the idea behind the allegations and he always will) and no anger at "being deceived".
Ah, Rush still going with the "CBS wanted to believe it so badly" line. I don't believe that.
Inquiring minds want to know.
Dan Rather slandered two men (George W. Bush and General Staudt) and he put words in the mouth of a dead man (Colonel Killian). This apology is meaningless without direct apologies to GWB, General Staudt and the family of Colonel Killian.
This is a first step toward clearing this up. But, even as a first step, it is pathetic. Rather is trying to paint himself as a victim, when we already know he ignored warnings about the documents. This thing is far from over.
It's a great day in America when Captain Dan eats crow.
You don't believe CBS wanted those memos to be true?
Boy, I sure do. If not, why go ahead with it in spite of the warnings they received?
