Drudge: Secret Service on Trail of Presidential Assassins

A worried Matt Drudge reported on his radio show tonight that the Secret Service is on the trail of several people intent on assassinating President Bush.

Drudge said the news story is not his, but that "those in the know" know what he's talking about.

He said more will be reported in the coming days.

Drudge pleaded with his fellow Americans to let the political process play out and to not descend to killing presidential candidates.

Why is anyone surprised?

If not for 9/11 and the heightened security there would have already been an attempt on his life.

Remember that in the aftermath of 2000 the left had worked itself up into a slobbering rage, they equated Bush with being a Klansman and a vote for Bush was a vote for lyinchings. The worked a lot of their less rational supporters up into an emotional hysteria which bordered on paranoia.

9/11 temporarily extinguished that hatefest but it remained and with Kerry, Michael Moore, and other lunatics fanning the flames with crazy conspiracies and paranoia induced accusations that Bush "knew" about the impending attack before 9/11 and allowed it to proceed to enrich his friends with a war what would you expect? The left considers him a close cousin to Adolph Hitler. Ask yourself if you had a gun in 1931 and could have shot Hitler and prevented the Holocaust would you have done it? That is the thinking of these leftist loons, they are irrational and have convinced themselves that Bush is Hitler and Ashcroft is destroying the Bill of Rights. They cannot be reached via reason or facts. Remember that Kerry himself was part of a Vietnam Veterans against the War meeting where the group actually discussed assassinating 6 US Senators as a way to end the Vietnam War. This type of flight, whether carried out or not, has a long pedigree in left-wing politics. We're not talking about rational, sober, or reasonable people who respect the integrity of the ballot box or the results of an election. They believe they are good and their enemies are evil.

By all means pray for Bush, but pretend to be shocked at the violent rantings you find on any indymedia.org website.

When you have people who will get naked and lay in the snow to spell out an anti-war message, when you have people who will puke on people's cars to make a political message, when you have people that will burn apartments down "for the environment", then you have some increased potential for lunatics.

Frankly, given the vitriol from the dims we have ALL witnessed over the last year alone, why would anyone be surprised by this? I have worried about this danger many times since President Bush was elected. The level of rhetoric that is played and replayed every day - kennedy calling President Bush a liar, micheal more - enough said about that, kerry, and every other dim presidential candidate spouting off - it's amazing and righteous that President Bush has come to no harm.
