Susan Brinkman, an investigative journalist, is currently writing a six-part series on homosexuality called "Homosexuality: The Untold Story - A Dangerous New Diversity," for the Catholic Standard & Times, the Archdiocese newspaper of Philadelphia.
In part 3 of her series on the health consequences of homosexual behavior, Brinkmann writes: "The American public has been left largely in the dark about the extent of the medical problems associated with homosexual activity because of the influence of pro-homosexual political agendas.
Brinkmann also notes that a high number of homosexuals appear to have been molested as children as compared to the general population. In one study, the American Journal of Public Health found that 39% of males who have same-sex attraction had been abused by homosexual men.
The author notes that from "an immunological point of view, the body itself considers homosexual acts to be disordered. For instance...substances in seminal fluid...send out 'signals' that are only understood by the female body. When deposited elsewhere, these signals are not only misunderstood, but cause sperm to fuse with whatever somatic body cell they encounter. I certainly hope the movement grows and more and more gays seek out help and have a true desire to change. Unfortunately, I don't see it at this point as they are truly everywhere where I live and show no signs of change.
The gay people I've known have all been nice people of course, but the are truly unhappy to the core's of their souls. Never have I seen any of them in monogamous relationships for longer than a couple of years. Most are drug or alcohol addicts as well. It's quite sad, really.

The *context* is different.
Smoking is physiologically addictive; but you can safely satisfy
the need to expel semen by using your own hands and a bucket of bleach.
There is also the question of economics--tobacco companies
make a lot of money and pay beaucoup taxes; the companies were well established long before the health risks of smoking were established.
Finally there is the synergistic effect of smoking and
the "typical American diet" (unknown before the turn of the century).
Any other health problems which are specifically due to homosexual intercourse are minor compared to AIDS, or to the problems caused by smoking.
Nonetheless there are other major health problems clustered
within the male homosexual community, such as hepatitis and tuberculosis;
these may be seen as secondary epidemics piggybacking upon AIDS.
Or dare I call it "barebacking?"

You are correct. Homosexuals are adamant that there is a "gay gene". The logical next step is that a test can be found to detect it and then either prevent, abort, or cure.
Imagine the reaction of the homosexual "groups" if there were to be a telethon to raise money to find a cause and cure to homosexuality.
See now I did wonder about that. I think it's pretty well known that most girls abused by men become promiscuous, (sp?) but I was not sure about lesbians.

Almost without exception, the gay men I know (and that's too many to count) have a story of some kind of sexual trauma or abuse in their childhood - molestation by a parent or authority figure, or seduction as an adolescent at the hands of an adult.
