What is the Kerry campaign missing?
San Francisco Chronicle, CA ^ | September 19, 2004 | Two Cents

Posted on 09/19/2004 5:33:58 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Darcy Jorgensen, Berkeley

A compelling agenda and a message other than "Vote for me because I'm not Bush."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tony Rodriguez, San Francisco

A candidate with sound ideas on how the government can help the world move forward. Kerry only offers rehashed socialist ideas from the failed Johnson-era Great Society. He refuses to recognize the wealth and freedom the Reagan/Thatcher revolution created.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jo-Anna Pippen, Albany

It's missing media coverage. Kerry is talking about the issues, but the media spends its time fighting the Vietnam War all over again. Iraq is falling apart, but it's more sensational to argue over who did what 35 years ago. Pathetic.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sandra Stamer, San Bruno

It's missing a candidate with warmth, honesty and common sense -- someone who can connect with the average American, not just the liberal elites who want to tell the rest of us how we should live.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ben Delaney, Oakland

It seems to be missing the fire and outrage many of us feel. We need Kerry to clearly, loudly and articulately point out the differences between the Bush administration's theofascism and democracy.

.........snip..........

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cindy Engelund, Aptos

No pizzazz. No kick. No sizzle. I'm a Democrat, and I've got to say that Kerry is the most beige candidate I've seen in years. Let's face it: Elections are decided 95 percent on personality. It shouldn't be this hard to get George Bush out of the White House.

if there are folks in San Francisco saying this that aren't just Republicans on vacation, it's worse for Kerry than we thought.

I love that self deluded moron who thinks someone other than Kerry is bringing up what happened 35 years ago.

What happened 35 years ago is simply the safest line for Kerry to take. That tells you a lot about Kerry's fitness for office!
