Yankees superfan Rudy Giuliani has a warning for John Kerry, who's been touting his love of the Red Sox as he campaigns for the presidency: Get your facts straight.
Kerry got mixed up recently when he told ESPN his favorite Red Sox slugger was "Manny Ortez," apparently confusing Manny Ramirez with David Ortiz.
The Democratic contender also said Eddie Yost, who never played for Boston, topped his list of all-time Red Sox greats.
"He played for the [Washington] Senators," said an incredulous Rudy, rightly pointing out that Yost never took the field for the Sawx as a player, although he did serve as a coach.
"And why not Ted Williams?" Giuliani asked. "Or Yaz [Carl Yastrzemski] or [Jim] Rice?
"The one thing you cannot do is play politics with baseball."
~snip~
Kerry spokesman Michael Meehan tried to explain away the gaffes yesterday, saying, "David [Ortiz] and Manny [Ramirez] often get confused because [they are] the heart of our lineup."
On the Yost matter, the spokesman said, "Kerry has so many favorites, it's hard to pick just one."

I love the Post.
Kerry should stick to talking about sailing or wind surfing. He obviously knows jack about baseball or football (Lambert Field, anyone?)

Every time I start to think that John Kerry has shown how incredibly stupid he can be, the man always tops himself.
I must now avoid John Kerry at all costs. Stupidity of such a stupendously profound nature has got to be contagious. Indeed, that would explain the phenomenal stupidity of close Kerry friends, family and associates (such as Dan Rather, Teresa Heinz-Kerry, James Carville, Terry McAuliffe, John Edwards, et cetera, et cetera).

I'm surprised he didn't say his favorite Red Sox player was Sam Malone. (You know how he's "into" that whole Hollywood thing....)

He's not stupid he's a phony. Which is even worse! I'm trying to be generous and give him the benefit of the doubt. Like I've said before, when Clinton lied to us, he insulted our integrity...but when Kerry lies to us, he insults our intelligence.

I know more about baseball than John Kerry does, and I'm 3000 miles away from it.
I wonder if he knows who Curt Schilling is.

Oh God!
I hate that when a limp-wristed, namby-pamby man tries to 'butch it up' and pretend to be a jock!
Kerry would do well to ditch the champagne, grab a beer, go down to Hooters, and watch a few games.

That pretty well sums up Kerry's position on just about anything.

sKerry probably just thinks a Shilling is an old British unit of currency.
I'd be surprised if he knew what a grounds rule double is or what the Pesky Poll is in Fenway Park.
Top of the morning to ya.
To: GAGOPSWEEPTOVICTORY
Oh, to be a fly on the wall at RAT headquarters or in the Heinz/Kerry mansion of the moment. Is TerAYsa throwing lamps yet?

Kerry called Lambeau Field, Lambert Field. Have you noticed how well Kerry's done in Wisconsin since making that mistake? Cheeseheads can smell a RAT from a mile away.
To: Prime Choice
Stupidity of such a stupendously profound nature has got to be contagious.Remember when sKerry chose Edwards as his running mate in ealy July? Remember how he said what a good-looking team they were, compared to the Bush-Cheney team?
Well, sKerry -- Beauty is only skin-deep, but stoopid goes all the way to the bone.

I don't know what the Pesky Poll is, but I do know a ground rule double is when a hit bounces off the ground in the outfield and over the wall.
