Responsibility taken for school siege [Islamic Chechen blames Russians for massacre]
The Washington Post ^ | September 18, 2004 | By Peter Finn

MOSCOW -- In an Internet posting, a Chechen warlord with a $10 million bounty on his head has apparently claimed responsibility for the Beslan school siege and promised more attacks on Russian civilians if Chechnya is not granted independence.

The defiant, taunting, and rambling missive, allegedly written by Shamil Basayev, whom Russian authorities had already blamed for the massacre, offered the guerrilla's version of events at Beslan and expressed some passing regret at the loss of life, which it blamed on President Vladimir Putin. ''The Kremlin vampire destroyed and wounded 1,000 children and adults by giving the order to storm the school for the sake of imperial ambitions," the e-mail stated. It was signed by Abdallakh Shamil, a nom de guerre used by Basayev. ''We are sorry about what happened in Beslan. It's simply that the war, which Putin declared on us five years ago, which has destroyed more than 40,000 Chechen children and crippled more than 5,000 of them, has gone back to where it started." The message also claimed responsibility for the recent downing of two Russian airliners and a bombing at a Moscow subway station. In all, the recent attacks killed more than 400 people. ''We will fight the way we want to, according to our rules," stated the e-mail, which in Moscow was widely taken to be authentic. Also yesterday, Putin said Russia is ''seriously preparing" for preemptive strikes against terrorists. Speaking to a meeting of world mayors in Moscow, Putin also made a veiled attack on the West, saying that double standards in dealing with terrorism are ''disastrous for global security."

Shamil Basayev is Islamic, will kill children and is a good friend of bin Laden. His head on a pike will be a just end to his bloodthirsty life.

Trouble is, Putin will use these recent events to annihilate Chechnya... lock, stock & barrel. He won't spend any time sorting out the Islamo-nazi's from the civilians when he takes his vengence... he will kill them all.

Furthermore, I doubt that Putin has any real desire to address Islamic terrorism worldwide. He is simply using this most recent event in Beslan as an excuse to increase his already impressive control over the Duma.

More likely he's going to put the fricking chechens somewhere where they can practice their terrorism and kidnapping on polar bears and seals. I'd call that a happy ending myself.

I think he's warning them now, if there are any, "civilians" in Chechnya...

I think they're mostly Islamo-nazi's, and the little one's are "tomorrows Islamo-nazi's".

Um...I recently read that 75% of Chechins support the "Russian Puppet" government with their votes. Why would Putin 'destroy' Chechnya?

Granting independence to that place would enable a bloodbath, purge, a violent Islamic takeover, and ensure annexation into the terrorist fold...right on Russia's doorstep.

What is it about Islamic terrorists you don't get? Putin would be crazy to 'free' Chechnya. Mebbe someday, when 25% of the people don't want to enslave or blow up the other 75%.

No problem, when Putin's done it won't be free.

Same was said of Lincoln. He withdrew the heavy hand at the end of official hostilities....

Unfortunately, terrorists and commies will never concede. So you pick yer poison: one that may make you ill, or one that will surely kill you?

"Same was said of Lincoln. He withdrew the heavy hand at the end of official hostilities...."

1) Lincoln's actions forver upset the balance of powers in America, creating a strong Presidency where one had not previously existed.

2) Lincoln was not a veteran KGB agent with 16 years service, two with the Stazi in East Germany.

3) Lincoln did not celebrate the birthday of the greatest mass murder in history, Stalin.

4) Lincoln did not supplement federal funds by selling advanced weapons systems to third world dictators.

Other then those minor points...

Listen CYO, I respect your opinions and I always look forward to your postage...so don't think I'm bein' antagonistic...for all we know , you may be right about Putin, or mebbe I'm right. The main point is, that all those opinions are based upon surmise...educated, but surmise nonetheless.

Now, here are demonstrable facts: Terrorists are a known threat; communists...who want Putin out, and are abetting terrorists to boot him, are a known threat. Putin may be a commie-inclined dialectic closer, but we can't say for sure; Islamic terrorists kill and destroy civilization; commies enslave the masses and engage in terror only slightly less virulent then their Islamic mercenaries.

Putin? we're gonna see; but I choose him...he's the only guy worth betting on.

Islamic Chechen blames Russians for massacre

In any such tragic case, full responsibility lies with the perpetrators, and no other...

1) Lincoln's actions forver upset the balance of powers in America, creating a strong Presidency where one had not previously existed.

Sort of true...he opened the door for the revolution of 1913. I no huge fan of the mercantilist overthrow of the FedGuv

2) Lincoln was not a veteran KGB agent with 16 years service, two with the Stazi in East Germany.

True. Nor is Putin a Nazi with 16 years service to Hitler who tried to blow him up with a suitcase bomb. Things and people evolute. A lot of Freepers say I'm a JBT thug cuz I wear a badge. They don't know me....the way you don't know Putin

3) Lincoln did not celebrate the birthday of the greatest mass murder in history, Stalin.

Sounds like commie/agiprop. I don't trust that story...too far off the res...like Bush and cocaine.

4) Lincoln did not supplement federal funds by selling advanced weapons systems to third world dictators.

Clinton did.

Other then those minor points...

More coffee, CYO?

In front of your eye's, Russia is moving backwards... and inwards. 'Boot' look's but he doe's not see.

What Putin is actually using Beslan, the plane bombings and the movie theater bombing for is a further usurping of Russian 'freedom'.

It ain't no Russian version of Bush's 'War on Terror' or 'The Patriot Act' he's putting into place.

Odd thing about the Ruskie's... they don't mind one 'friggin bit! A couple semester's of Russian history could clear things up for you.

*What Bush is actually using 9/11, the plane highjackings and Cole bombing for is a further usurping of American 'freedom'.* (edited for illustration only)

Can't 'get' with your pessimism.

I know a bit about Russian history; I have several friends who are recent come-overers; and I know a bit about human nature. True , I don't see what you're seeing. Time will tell.

Whatever.

Just don't ever believe the hard line Putin is taking is a Russian 'version' of US and UK policy. The elimination of Islamo-facism is not Putin's goal... it is merely a PR tool in a bigger campaign.
