I'm not sure, but I don't think this is true. It seems that even the 'genius' Joe Trippi cannot understand time zones. Did TankerC actually post his doubts before the 60 Minutes II docuforgery was over?

WE NEED TO SEE THOSE MEMOS AGAIN!
They are not in the style that we used when I came in to the USAF. They looked like the style and format we started using about 12 years ago (1992). Our signature blocks were left justified, now they are rigth of center...like the ones they just showed.
Can we get a copy of those memos?

Did TankerC actually post his doubts before the 60 Minutes II docuforgery was over? Yes he did. He posted just 19 minutes after 60 Minutes II started.

a firestorm was raging from web bulletin boards, to blogs to the Drudge Report and in less than 12 hours to the mainstream media. Didn't seem like a firestorm to me at all. More like "the swarm" going into action and taking the story apart, piece by piece.

Hey, MSMs, its supposed to be your job to check the facts before you blast across the airwaves and headlines. You got caught being sloppy and it just eats at you. Good.

TankerC, sir, if you happen to read this thread, thank you. This is, indeed, impressive. You have proven that one person CAN make a difference.
I salute you for your heads up, clear thinking "catch".

I thought the time was supposedly PDT?? It depends on how you set up your settings on your preferences page. If you haven't set your preferences, the default is Pacific Time, because the server is in California where Jim Robinson lives. Of course anyone who is just lurking can't change the defaults, because he isn't logged in. The journalist from ABC who first mentioned Buckhead's post in the MSM was probably from the east coast, and didn't know that anyone used anything other than eastern time. That's why he originally mistakenly attributed that comment as occurring just before the program left the air at 8:59 EDT rather than three hours after the program went off the air.

"Raced like a wildfire ... "? Dunno 'bout that. It was about the longest 38 hours I ever spent glued to the 'puter ... just going out to the kitchen to fix a sandwich and brew up some fresh coffee put me hundreds of posts behind. Last time I recall anything similar was a late January Sunday/Monday a few years back, glued to a decidedly technogeek usenet board watching developments resulting from an expected, but very unexpectedly effective countermove on the part of a satellite TV outfit set on foiling signal pirates. My interest, of course, was purely academic.
For about two weeks.

man, these freepers sound like a bunch of right-wing nuts. i think john edwards should SUE them, and terAYZA should tell them to shove it!!!! and then jfk should vote for them and then vote against them! and rather should get some forged documents about them! that should take care of this blog problem.

Okay, thanks for reminding me about the time setting preferences. I assume that the segment on Bush and the TANG aired first on that episode of 60', if they break it into 1/3's? And TankerKC posted at 19' into it? I just want to be sure I have it down correct in case I hear misinformation being spread about.

That is correct. I was on the live thread about the program. We were watching the show and commenting on it, and Tanker posted just after the segment ended.

Thanks. I have a feeling that many folks who are familiar with USAF memo formats knew they were fake.
