Yes, Russell, There Really Is A 1st Amendment Problem In The BCRA

In an editorial in yesterday's Examiner, former Federal Elections Commissioner Bradley Smith demolishes a recent assertion by Senator Russ Feingold that his Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act does not trample on First Amendment rights. Smith, who had a front-row seat to the implementation of McCain-Feingold, assures him that telling people when they can and cannot publicly criticize politicians is an egregious limitation on free speech: Posted by Captain Ed at 06:12 AM | Comments (16)  "BCRA is two things: (a) incumbency protection; and (b) Big Media monopoly protection. The former explains how it got through Congress, the latter why the Big Media loves it so much."

Say Goodnight, Randi

Love the spin: sure, Air America’s going belly-up, but “progressive” radio is stronger than ever! (Hat tip: LGF readers.)

RUSH: Did somebody actually say to you, or to somebody else that you heard, it's been said to, "what happened to the victims is not important, and you're not important; let the congressman speak"? http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_091306/content/fruited_plain_2.guest.html

With only 9 or so days to her first Court appearance, the Debenstein Monster can't seem to control herself any longer:

More from the same blog. I believe this was the first post she had there and it defines and introduces herself to them: When I post under an assumed name or funky handle, I can get in closer touch with my Inner Sociopath.

wake up yappy dogs! come on all you sleepy head toy poodles and miniature shnauzers! your favorite talking (typing?) fire hydrant is here!
lift that leg —oooh, feel that stretch!

bring it on, you right-wing-ranting lovers!

why am i here? you say such blatantly silly and stupid stuff, it’s a public service to show the lurkers that you are not as erudite and wise as you think you are, despite the enthusiastic barking from the peeing peanut gallery.

Morning, Masked Menace!!! Good day, KJ!!

I’m not wearing any socks……come and get me!

Uh, menace, my lame baiting worked - you replied. B.F. Skinner would say that you reinforced my behavior and therefore increased the probability that I would engage in it again.

Do you really think lame-brained, limp attacks on my expertise in psychology is going to change my behavior?

MM: Don’t confuse morbid amusement with any real interest.

Hey! We’re on the same page. Who’d a thunk?

LLtake2: i live in a blue city (Tucson) in a red state. Many pundits refer to this as purple.
i used to live in a green city (Eugene) in a blue state.

[If blue + red = purple, what color would describe me (lunatic left wing fringe - left of Nader, right of Kaczynski)? The obvious answer is green. Green is the opposite of red, in the opponent-process theory of color vision. Green is the opposite of red on a traffic light.]

So I’m way left of the average blue-state person. I’m such a not-blue greenie i’m practically chartruese. Trust me.

So I’m a green state person living in a purple city in a red state bloggin’ out with red state people. And I’m having way more fun than I’ve had bloggin out with blue state people. So that’s kind of trippy, woowoo, twilight zone, x-files, etc.

[Note: you are not mistaken. the troll just complimented VC.]

Chere Cricket,

i troll therefore i am.
i don’t like uncle sam.
ranting is dandy
But jousting’s like candy
i LIKE to be “blogspam.”

imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, cricket, but trolling is a close second.

vc is not the first blog i’ve trolled. i doubt she’ll be the last. yet in my admittedly limited (2 months) experience, she’s the fairest of all the blogs i’ve trolled.

’tis mainly that her royal blogness, Cassandra, is witty, wise and brave. but ‘twould be a lie if i denied that the beauty of villainous company stems in part from the caliber of the peenut gallery (present company included).

i am not amusing you at your expense. i aim to amuse you, aussi, ma cherie. Compris?
