KNX 1070 is the main radio station serving Los Angeles and Orange Counties for around the clock news and information. It would seem that KNX has a responsibility to provide fair and unbiased coverage of the news, something foreign to the editors of C"BS" news, the source of "news" on KNX.
It would seem, therefore, that the denizens of SoCal deserve better and should demand better. KNX 1070 has a website with all the information necessary to register a concern.
Together, we can slay the beast. Let's do it.
Agreed. If you want all news, listen to 980 (KFWB).
if memory serves, knx is an o&o -- owned and operated by cbs.
Actually, I just checked and they're O&O by Infinity which is owned by Viacom...but that's basically the same difference. In other words, they can't really dump CBS.
Oh well. I tried.
Oh good. I recently wrote a reply about what to do about KCBS which is also owned and operated by Viacom. The same ideas apply to KNX.
KCBS is a wholly owned subsiary of Viacom which owns CBS. Every few years it has to renew its broadcast license to use the public airwaves. You need to start a letter campaign to the management of KCBS that if Rather and the others at CBS responsible for the memo story on 60 Minutes are not forced to resign, that you will write letters to the FCC recommending that Viacom not be given a renewal of its KCBS broacast license. Networks like CBS actually make more money from their wholly owned affiliates than the make from their netword operations.
