I disagree. It highlights Kerry's recent attempt to draw a torturous distinction between medals and ribbons and sympbols. It makes it clear that the nitpicking was being done by Monsieur Kerry and the average person will ask "why".
It is plain as day that the Kerry of recent days was trying to distance himself from his actions from years ago and this ad serves up the issue to viewers so they can see that for themselves. It's quite stark and effective.
The first ad, as has been pointed out, laid the groundwork for the meaning of these awards and Kerry's frame of mind back then, far from the picture he's been painting of himself as super soldier/super patriot.
This ad will lay the groundwork for the next ad, which will show that Kerry requested replacement medals as well as the citations signed by Lehman. The press will go bonkers, since Kerry was, as the ad showed, quite forceful on GMA in saying he didn't throw away his medals. I am convinced that the Swiftees know somthing. This is the second ad about Kerry's medals. More to follow.
Right. And, you know what it all really comes down to (and many, particularly on the left, fail to grasp this)is that Kerry chages with the wind.He cannot be relied on to be decisive and forthright. He cannot, and will not, recognize the truth,in any form. He's not even qualified to operate a can opener, much less lead a country.
It will be extremely satisfying to see the Oct. ad, hopefully culminating in his trip to gay Paree. His frame of mind back then as he schmoozes with the enemy. Perhaps his own words in his own voice? My skin is already crawling.
