Three-year-old Sophia Parlock cries while seated on the shoulders of her father, Phil Parlock, after having their Bush-Cheney sign torn up by Kerry-Edwards supporters on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, W.Va. Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards (news - web sites) made a brief stop at the airport as he concluded his two-day bus tour to locations in West Virginia and Ohio. Any chance Dan Rather will run this story on the CBS evening news? No, but if asked he'll say the photo is "real but inaccurate."

The dad is in a situation where things can only break bad. To fight he has to put the little girl down where those hags in back of them can get at her.
In this case, discretion is the better part of valor.

It's unthinkable that a group of adults would attack a kid, but it's unthinkable that an adult would tear a sign away from a 3-year old kid and smirk at the crying child in the first place. Even if the rest of those people didn't attack the kid, she would probably would have been injured in the 10 to 1 assault on the dad that would likely follow his starting to fight the dude with the smirk.

What is most appalling is the look of contempt and pleasure on the faces of the Dems around her. Even the little kid in the corner looks like he is prepared to hit her. It shows, in microcosm, the lack of any sense of decency in these people. How can anyone with any feelings get pleasure over a child crying?

She's a martyr. For her tears she has probably earned Bush 10,000 votes.

But if she was a Republican at thirty, If they tried it with Ann or Laura Ingraham, maybe Laura Bush, they might be still have gotten in their vandalism kicks. But they'd be going home without at least one of the arms they came with.

The IUPAT may not be all bad - or maybe Sopranos bad, I don't know. But they're not opposed to the military, itself, I think.
See this. On the other hand, who IS that guy who assaulted the kid. Is he part of - the 'family'. Or is he someone who might wind up in bridge footing, for what he did?

" I wouldn't take kids to one."
Yeah, my daughter was upset that I wouldn't let her go to the big right to life march in Washington.
I couldn't be there, and better judgement just wouldn't allow it.
