"The American robot sent a camera through a small hole drilled in the block only to encounter another stone blocking the way." Didn't the "other stone" have a brass handle on it?!

Two bronze "nails" bent downward IIRC, one was snapped off.
They did look like handles.

The first door had what was apparently a copper attachment which may have been intended to prevent the raising of the stone after it had been dropped in place. That's a little weird, because the small size of these "tunnels" precludes even a child from reaching the backside of the blank wall of the burial chambers.
Had someone been tiny enough to make the trip, they'd have found no way into the burial chambers, and probably their skeletons would have remained there. :')
These "tunnels" were discovered in modern times by tapping, looking for hidden rooms, and their current entrances in the burial chambers were cut at that time, perhaps 150 years ago.
The upper ends of these "tunnels" are already guessed at. The backs of the blocks found behind the "doors" are actually the last row of blocks used to construct the pyramid. There may be other chambers in the Great Pyramid, but Zahi "Zowie" Hawass wants someone to figure out a non-invasive procedure to look for them (no more drilling holes, blasting, cutting, etc). George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent
