An Interview with Bashir (TROP Alert)
The Fourth Rail ^ | 16 September 2004 | Bill Roggio

The Command Post links to an interview with Abu Bakar Bashir, the “spiritual leader” of Jemaah Islamiyah, the Indonesian arm of al Qaeda whose intention is creating an Islamic Caliphate in the Southern Pacific. This interview reveals the unbending and psychopathic mind that is prevalent in al Qaeda. He accuses America and Australia of orchestrating the recent attack in Jakarta, approves of suicide bombings, blames the plights of Indonesia (terrorism, floods, etc.) on its government’s unwillingness to embrace sharia, claims Afghanistan is innocent of complicity in 9-11, accuses America of working to destroy Islam, the list goes on. The interview should be read in its entirety to fully grasp the sickness we fight. The end of the interview provides insight on al Qaeda’s belief that peace will not be achieved until Islam conquers the West. It also illustrates their willingness to influence elections in Western nations and shows they actually have a preference for leaders of Western nations that oppose them.

Q: How can Indonesia deal with this situation?

A: The world and Indonesia belong to Allah. Therefore it should be ruled under Allah's law without bargaining. I believe that the clash of civilisations will continue but in the end, Islam will definitely win. It has been predicted by our Prophet Mohammad.

Q: Is that because of a lack of knowledge of Islam by the West?

A: No, they just do not want to understand. As long as the West do not want to live peacefully and always force Islam to change in line with its own interests, this clash will continue. Peace can only be achieved after Islams [sic] triumphs.

The struggle continues because they initiate the violence in order to bring the clash of civilizations to a head. But there is no other option but to fight Islamofascism, as it is not a matter of the West understanding, but a matter of the West being “ruled under Allah's law without bargaining.” This clearly shows there is no room for negotiations with al Qaeda. Any attempts to negotiate with this group are doomed to fail. Their demands can never be met as their goal is not peaceful coexistence, only submission to Islam on the terms of their choosing.

[Bashir] is handed a recent copy of The Bulletin, with Mark Latham on the cover, and at first mistakes him for John Kerry, then is told it is the Australian opposition leader.] Q: What can he [Latham] do for Australia?

A: He should be able to fix John Howard. He [Howard] is on the slide because he has been cheated and lied to by George W. Bush. I hope this person [Latham] can fix him and he does not return again to fight "terrorism" as defined by Bush. I agree to fight against terrorism but it should be a true terrorism and not in accordance with Bush's definition. Bush is being used by the Jews. The Jews are the most evil men in the world. John Howard has already been cheated.

Q: What do you want to say to Australia?

A: I suggest to the Australian people and government, if you all want to be safe and good, please try to embrace Islam because you are created by Allah for Islam. It's only now that you are being disturbed by demons. If you are still unwilling not to embrace Islam, do not follow the steps of George Bush.

There is little doubt at this point that Jemaah Islamiyah attacked the Australian embassy in Jakarta in order to influence Australia’s elections, and Bashir’s statements confirm this. He clearly has a preference in the leadership of Australia. Prime Minister Howard is viewed as a threat as he sides with President Bush’s aggressive strategy in the War on Terror. Australia’s opposition Labor Party Mark Latham is seen as a weaker candidate by al Qaeda; softer on the War on Terror, willing to negotiate and opposed to Australia's presence in Iraq. This indicates the strategy to actively pursue al Qaeda and its affiliates is threatening to the Islamofascist movement, and al Qaeda has a clear preference for weak leaders in Western governments.

It would have been interesting to know what would have happened if the interviewer allowed Bashir to expand on his thoughts when he confused the photograph of Mark Latham with John Kerry. As Bashir is violently opposed to Mark Howard and George Bush’s leadership, it does not take a huge leap of faith to think he would support John Kerry’s candidacy for president. John Kerry has claimed foreign leaders support his candidacy, as if this is an important reason to vote for him. The list of foreign leaders officially endorsing John Kerry for president includes notables such as includes North Korea’s insane Dear Leader Kim Jong Il, Spain’s appeasing Prime Minister Zapatero, and Jew-hating former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad. Should the “spiritual leader” of Jemaah Islamiyah be added to the list as well?

This does not answer your question at the end of your post, yet I am left with these thoughts. How can we fight off Islamofacism, keep the world from being ruled by Allah's law? Beat them at their own game. Know their religion better than they do.... Respond quickly using small groups that can spout their doctrines; all the while infiltrating their religious mosque, become their friend then use a little friendly persuasion to slowly change their hard core dogmatic ideas.
