Left Will Try to Impeach Bush on Abu Ghraib September 16, 2004
Listen to Rush ( predict what the left will do if Bush wins re-election) BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
I want you to keep an eye on this, folks. I have been warning you. Many people have been asking me, "What's the left going to do when they lose the election?" And I know many of you think, well, they're going to realize they've been screwing up and change their ways and we'll have less partisanship and blah, blah. (Laughing). My friends,

I want you to keep an eye on this, folks. I have been warning you. Many people have been asking me, "What's the left going to do when they lose the election?" And I know many of you think, well, they're going to realize they've been screwing up and change their ways and we'll have less partisanship and blah, blah. (Laughing). My friends, that's wishful thinking. Ain't going to happen. They haven't suffered enough yet. Their losses aren't enough to hammer home reality to them yet.
If Bush wins this election, I guarantee you the first thing, substantively, the left will do is try to impeach him, and they'll do so on the basis of what happened at Abu Ghraib. And that's why I want you to keep an eye on this because this story, this is the latest story from the Associated Press: "Suggesting the government was acting as if it had something to hide, a federal judge Wednesday gave Washington one month to release records related to the treatment of prisoners in Iraq. U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein chastised officials for moving at a 'glacial pace' in responding to nearly year-old Freedom of Information Act requests from the American Civil Liberties Union and four other watchdog organizations. 'If the documents are more of an embarrassment than a secret, the public should know of our government's treatment of individuals captured and held abroad,' Hellerstein wrote. 'We are a nation that strives to value the dignity of all humanity.'
"The groups brought a lawsuit in June, saying they wanted to expose the treatment of detainees. Hellerstein said though the government had raised 'important issues' of national security as a reason for the delays, 'merely raising national security concerns cannot justify unlimited delay.' Megan L. Gaffney, a spokeswoman for federal prosecutors in New York, declined to comment. Jameel Jaffer, an ACLU lawyer, was heartened by the action."
Just keep a sharp eye on this, folks, because this is where they're going to go if they lose the election. You think they're just gonna sit back and say, "Okay, well, Bush is a lame duck. Let's go ahead and try to stall him as much as they can until we get Hillary elected." Ain't gonna happen. There is not widespread hatred for George Bush among the American people. There is among the power base of the American left today and they will do whatever they can to get this guy thrown out of office.

I think Rush has his future sight goggles on again. And, we know he's never wrong on these predictions (well, less than 5% of the time).
um in order for this to happen they would need THE VOTES. Last time I checked they were powerless.
Exactly. No way a GOP house is going to bring impeachment charges against Bush. And certainly 2/3 of the Senate will not go along. Out of the question.
Someone might try, but that act will destroy the Democratic Party because it will fail, and it will make the Democrats look bad... even if they don't support it.
Good thing we have the House and they don't.
After this election, the Democrats are going to have to ask permission for bathroom trips in the House of Representative.
The are certainly not going to get anywhere near an impeachment vote.
Just let em try!!!!!
Yep. I think Rush is over-reacting on this one.
Bring it on, and on, and on...
Last time I looked, the Republican majority was powerless to do squat. I can just picture the Dems going into more filibusters until the congressional Republicans cave in as they have on loads of things these past two years.
If Bush wins this next election, and I say if because I don't want to jinx it, I truly hope the Dems keep up their downward spiral of stupidity. The more crazed they sound, the more they lose, then the more crazed they sound and so on and so on and soooo on.
I'm sure this will be about as successful as Arnold Schwarzennegar's impeachment.
They'd better win control of the House by a wide margin.
Correct, but he's right in that the left will go bazooka @ss bonkers after they lose.
I was hoping that the Democrat politicians were going to join their base and move to Canada/Europe. Hard to impeach from abroad.
Frankly, I dare them to try. It will be the final nail in their coffin of irrelevancy if they do.
At that point, to quote Vic Deakins from the movie Broken Arrow, "f*** 'em if they can't take a joke." (BOOP BEEP BIP)
hey, where the hell is Daschle, he would be saddened if he were visible, ....OH, he's trying to get re-elected! Please, sweet Lord, John Thune could use your help right now...
