A Conservative Woman Speaks
Me

Posted on 09/16/2004 7:25:35 PM PDT by 2-in-Texas

You know, I've been a member of FR since before the 2000 election. I have not always agreed with the posts of the male-dominated membership in FR, but I have appreciated the positions of each and every one of you. But it has become very clear to me during this 2004 campaign why many women cannot embrace the conservative and/or Republican agenda. I have been since Nixon, and will remain one despite the predominance of the sexist condescension of a large group of Republican men. So let's get down to the bare bones of the situation, okay? And I really couldn't care less about the flames and insults that the lower domination of the FR membership will inflict on me for this little tirade of mine. There are so, so many women just like me who fervently believe in the ideals of the Republican and George W. Bush. We may recognize the lack of a female perspective in some issues, but we grasp the overall concept and recognize it as our own core values. We have basically learned to pick our battles. We share the views of conservative men in regards to our need for a superior military defense, a belief in the need for personal accountability and responsibility, a eff-you attitude towards our former French and Canadian and other similar so-called "allies," a need to defy the wimpy attitudes of those utopian countries who are in total denial about the condition of the world today and the necessarily severe actions necessary to ensure the survival of a righteous and moral world. We're out here, guys, and we feel just as strongly about these values as you do even if we don't feel the need to express them with your chest-beating and neverending pissing contests.

So in the midst of your extemely intelligent, compassionat idealogy, the less evolved of you start spouting your sexist and primate idealogy that becomes such a total turn-off to so many women who believe in your core values. Why do most women vote liberal? Because so many men are so busy being macho that they refus to embrace a woman's perspective on issues. You won't deter me or a very, very large group of women just like me. We are a very large and growing block of voters, and to grow that base, you need to recognize our different perspectives on the same core values. Stop pushing us away, and embrace our contributions. We are not so different, only the way God intends us to be. There's a reasons for differences, and they are for the greater good.

So hit me with your best shot. I will probably never post here again. And know this: I believe in George W. Bush, and will always be a conservative woman, although I'll probably be searching for another venue to share my beliefs.

I think she wanted attention and a little friction.

could be a sleeper....I was going to research her posting history.

I can tell you that except for a few exceptions that most women here like men very much....no doubt about that and some of the most hardbitten (and capable) freepers are women.

on nearly all issues here, there is no gender gap.

I think if she is not a sleeper that she has issues....a plethora of them or she is a repressed lib...or worse....perish the thought.

I was raised by a classically trained passive aggressive mommy whom I love dearly but who is a typical southron belle who actually lives out the Scarlett O'Hara personality thing.....I'm used to it.

I was not referring to NP btw....but the fem-poster of this thread.

I'm sorry I was late to this one dammit.

PS...Obsessive-Compulsive usually runs hand in hand with passive aggression. I'm just regular aggressive-aggresive....lol

Stay tuned, baby. You ain't seen nothin' yet! Hehe, excellent! :^)

I love that article...it's perfect. Very insightful and with great humor interspersed throughout. I was going to pick a favorite line to highlight but there were simply to many. The intro sentence had me laughing immediately.

I bet that the hate mail did roll in. Why? Because you told the truth, and told it well.

I'll have you in my trench anytime during a firefight.

So how long did it take you to write your tirade?
Was it between cooking and washing the clothes or was when you got together for tea? with your friends?

I am confused!

War, let me tell ya. I have seen more women claiming to be conservatives who spout the feminist line -- sometimes without even knowing it!

That's because the feminist junk has seeped into every message that women receive -- from magazines to television to pregnancy/children/advice outlets. Places you would never guess would be saturated with liberal/feminazi is positively overflowing with it!

I hear it all the time -- and it is particularly disturbing when they clearly haven't done any of their own thinking and research. And those who are in my generation or younger have no idea who Phyllis Schlafly is or have never understood what the ERA would have really done had it been ratified. They just stand there and look at me all doe-eyed and say, "Gosh, equal rights? Sure, that sounds just great to me!"

It has been a great marketing job by the lefties.

There is MUCH work to be done. Heaven spare me from ever having to SINK to the level of equality. Don't mess with my deal!!!

LOL, thank you.

Actually bass they are fairly conservative. Everything they do has a purpose. They don't waste energy unnecessarily. They don't consume more than they need. They protect their homes and young without anyone else's assistance. What come out of their posterior however is pure Liberal. :^)

I guess I'm lucky...my wife never spouts such tripe and she had to make her own way till she hitched up with me and she did pretty damned good on her own.

I have noticed particularly amongst Gen X and Y public school (in particular)kids when even conservative that they have drank a bit more of the social engineering kool-aid than my generation did.

Even here in the South.

And yes...lots of women have a knee jerk defense of why they are stay at home moms and not M&A titans....but not my wife and not any FReepettes either that I've seen.

the only tiny gender gap I've seen here is over women near combat and that is quite a small group

and on abortion....maybe a few womyn are pro-infanticide but the most reliably pro-abort crowd here are the male atheist intellectuals (sic)

We usually do;think alike,that is! :-)

Well, maybe you need to go to a FR meeting/FREEP/picnic in your area. There ARE single women on FR,after all.And there have been many marriages between FREEPERS,since FR began. This really is a place to meet like minded people;well, for the most part. LOL

My mom...bless her heart ...has just always been deferred and catered to since forever.

It's the custom down here and she was always very pretty and chirpy...Miss Mississippi in 52.

Her dad and brothers spoiled her.

My dad spoiled her.

And we all do what she wants usually even though she depends on me to take care of "things".

It's just the way it is....like the sun rising in the east.

*i think it bothers my wife...the lady in waiting more than me...lol

felines...they will always be a mystery but i'll give up a rib anytime i'm asked.

Yes,to every single point!

And I really am weary of the attention seekers here.Goodness gracious...most of us are on FR for the news and the debates;NOT for the attention!

ROTFLOL,just thinking about how many women here best the men,in debate after debate. And then some think that the women are men. :-)

You know NP that's a great idea. I will keep an eye out for one of those in the Northern Cali area. I always see the pictures posted after they occur. They look like fun.

Or, maybe I'll go down to the Southland when the... I may have this name wrong... FR Shooting Belles meet. A conservative woman who shoots! WOW! :^)

Thanks for the idea!

You are lucky to have a bright, independent, loving, conservative wife and it sounds to me like she needs some flowers!

I can't say what it is with Gen X and Y chicks. I was born in 1966 so I'm on the edge of the X'ers. But I had WWII generation parents, which were most of my friends' grandparents' ages. And yes, my mother was Southern and it certainly rubbed off on me.

It is certainly refreshing to see many of them coming to the realization that a paycheck is not the answer to their self-worth prayers. But you are correct in that they seem to be a bit on the defensive side of it still.

Not me, though. I'm a stay at home mom. Have two beautiful boys -- 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. I built my career so that I COULD work from home at some point. It is just about multi-tasking and making priorities.

Bottom line is, I guess, at least for me, that it isn't going to say "She wrote really great press releases" on my tombstone. It is going to say "wife and mother." Better live up to those monikers and make sure that my real legacy -- my boys -- are brought up to be productive, thoughtful, prayerful gentlemen.

I used to be pro-abortion, too. I understand the bill of goods the feminists have sold to women. I have never understood, however, why, if feminists are supposed to be about "empowering women" that they teach young girls that the road to equality is not found in the bedroom. The "choice" comes when a woman says "yes" or "no". Everything after that is a consequence phase. But no, hate to cut down on the blood money profits for Planned Parenthood by teaching that responsibility/consequence thing.

Now. Back to the priority. I think flowers just out of the blue would be a lovely thing to do for your wife, don't you?
