A Conservative Woman Speaks
Me

Posted on 09/16/2004 7:25:35 PM PDT by 2-in-Texas

You know, I've been a member of FR since before the 2000 election. I have not always agreed with the posts of the male-dominated membership in FR, but I have appreciated the positions of each and every one of you. But it has become very clear to me during this 2004 campaign why many women cannot embrace the conservative and/or Republican agenda. I have been since Nixon, and will remain one despite the predominance of the sexist condescension of a large group of Republican men. So let's get down to the bare bones of the situation, okay? And I really couldn't care less about the flames and insults that the lower domination of the FR membership will inflict on me for this little tirade of mine. There are so, so many women just like me who fervently believe in the ideals of the Republican and George W. Bush. We may recognize the lack of a female perspective in some issues, but we grasp the overall concept and recognize it as our own core values. We have basically learned to pick our battles. We share the views of conservative men in regards to our need for a superior military defense, a belief in the need for personal accountability and responsibility, a eff-you attitude towards our former French and Canadian and other similar so-called "allies," a need to defy the wimpy attitudes of those utopian countries who are in total denial about the condition of the world today and the necessarily severe actions necessary to ensure the survival of a righteous and moral world. We're out here, guys, and we feel just as strongly about these values as you do even if we don't feel the need to express them with your chest-beating and neverending pissing contests.

So in the midst of your extemely intelligent, compassionat idealogy, the less evolved of you start spouting your sexist and primate idealogy that becomes such a total turn-off to so many women who believe in your core values. Why do most women vote liberal? Because so many men are so busy being macho that they refus to embrace a woman's perspective on issues. You won't deter me or a very, very large group of women just like me. We are a very large and growing block of voters, and to grow that base, you need to recognize our different perspectives on the same core values. Stop pushing us away, and embrace our contributions. We are not so different, only the way God intends us to be. There's a reasons for differences, and they are for the greater good.

So hit me with your best shot. I will probably never post here again. And know this: I believe in George W. Bush, and will always be a conservative woman, although I'll probably be searching for another venue to share my beliefs.

I don't understand your "Just give it up and be glad to hand over responsibility to the men. You'll feel a great relief at not having to be "right" all the time. *And you'll also feel great relief at not promoting socialism."

I've done a lot of research, but this "give it up" to someone else's authority sounds closer to socialism than personal responsibility.

Have you ever even met a man?

They went to the moon! They transplant hearts! They built the World Trade Towers! They have farting contests! They're creatures of aggression and innovation. They aren't going to change...if they do we're doomed.

I don't see the actual complaint in this post. What are you angry ABOUT? Men being men? Should conservative men take estrogen? I've been on these threads and I don't have a problem with what's being said. What is the specific beef?

Sorry. One of my pet peeves. Conservative women who embrace the loony garbage from feminists then whine ABOUT NOTHING JUST TO WHINE.

Anyone can find any problem and whine about it. That's not hard in today's culture of victimology. Leadership means overcoming AND problem either real or perceived and focusing like a laser beam on the goal.

Thank you for the compliment.

My technique is to type a bunch, preview, erase everything I wouldn't want my mother to read, clean up the grammar, spelling and mess from the cut and paste, and preview again.

Oh, and I go back and re-read the post I'm replying to. Sometimes I forget the point I was going to make or the one I was going to dispute.

I try to avoid vanities. But the skills I've learned on FR have enabled me to have editorials published here and elsewhere.

Repeat as necessary.... then hit "Post."

Texas, this may come as a shock, but because I put my husband first rather than believing the feminist junk that it is "all about me", I don't need a vibrator.

Ahh, so let's dismiss my comments because I didn't let some guy's idiotic sexist comment slide by without comment? Hey, if that makes it easier for you to ignore the things I said that obviously hit a nerve with you, go for it. And who decided that a conservative woman can't have some "feminist" views? Are there some rules to be a conservative female I missed?

I'm a conservative woman as well. Could you please tell us what, specifically, you find so offensive about people on this board? Like examples and such?

YOU seem to have read my mind. I am a conservative man, 37, and I am TIRED of women who will scream "harassment", about a man who simply says to them"good morinng", but they feel that they can say or DO ANYTHING to a man, and he just has to "take it like a man, and ignore it". IMHO, this is simply designed to drive a deeper wedge between men and women, to the point where a man cannot even feel safe SPEAKING to a woman, without a lewyer next to him. Is this what we REALLY want??

The only condenscending I have seen here is your post with sneering about so called "primate ideologies" without any examples whatsoever.

I hate it when I read a whole article and still don't understand what the author is trying to say. What exactly is it the men are doing in the GOP you don't like?

Good grief! One day (okay, it was a year ago at a Focus on the Family Policy Council meeting and not on FR) I'm protesting to some Evangelical that says without us women and our demands for standards, men would still live in caves (I told him men were responsible for their own sins, I have enough to deal with my own) and the next day someone praises men's flatulence as preventing the doom of us all!!!

I like men, too. But, unless they're sick or incompetent, they can very well act in a civilized manner around me - just because it's the right thing to do.

(I was nicknamed "Mom!" on another forum.)

Welcome to that club! I used to drive the feminists crazy, when they asked me to join the moronic evening sessions to beat up on the men they were married to or dated.I would tell them that I had nothing to complain about... :-)

Conservative women should NEVER fall for the lefty propaganda, but it appears that a few here have.IMHO,that makes them CINOS!

You can't be a doting Daddy proud as peaches of the little elf you've produced one moment and then be the learing dirty old man licking his lips over a 20 year old model the next

I can too. I'm so good at it, I can do it with my eyes closed on roller skates.

I am a woman and have no idea what you are talking about?

I have as many woman friends as men, and some I haven't figured out what sex they are yet.

What issues are you talking about?

Abortion?
