I have committed myself deeply to the democratic political processes of our society, because I believe that su voto es su voz your vote is your voice and that participation in the political process is one of the highest marks of good citizenship. To that end, I have attended every Texas State Democratic Convention since 1974; I have served as Democratic County Chairman for Travis County, I have served as a Democratic Precinct Chair in both Travis and Bexar Counties, and I have served as president of the Northeast Austin Democrats and chairman of the North East Bexar County Democrats. I have also run for political office previously, having offered myself proudly as a Democratic candidate for the Texas Supreme Court in 1998.
The political party system provides stability and organization for our societys governmental and political structures, and I am proud of my political affiliation as a Democrat. Being a Democrat means that I inherit the political philosophies of great servants of the people such as James Stephen Hogg, Ralph Yarborough, Ann Richards, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton. This is a proud legacy.
The political party system, when working properly, provides well-balanced government. When the system is working properly, no one political party has a monopoly on truth or power. Unfortunately, if something does not change, our political system is on its way to breaking, because the radical right wing that has hijacked the Republican Party is not content with merely being a political party. That radical right wing is not content to govern; it hungers to rule. Its decisions are so completely based on the pursuit of raw power that its actions no longer resemble the platform of the once-respectable Republican Party of days gone by. Many mainstream Republicans who believe in the principles of the American Constitution are aghast at the radical right-wing takeover of their party. One cannot blame them for their confusion. The Democratic Party offers them a new political home.
Todays Texas Supreme Court is a bastion of the radical right wing that does not concern itself with justice for the ordinary people of Texas. As an experienced trial lawyer and appellate advocate, I am eminently qualified to serve the people on the highest Court of our States judicial branch of government. As a populist Democrat, who is proud of the pro-people values of my Party, I believe the time has come for the people of this State to seek a new direction and to elect a proud Democrat to the Texas Supreme Court. We have had ample experience with the pro-corporate radical Republican philosophy. That cold and cruel philosophy is shutting the doors of justice against the people of Texas. Its time for a change. Elect a real Democrat to the Texas Supreme Court.
Here's how I would translate:
Unfortunately, if something does not change, our political system is on its way to breaking, because the radical left wing that has hijacked the Democratic Party is not content with merely being a political party. They are a comprehensive movement dedicated to radical secularism and the pursuit of pleasure at all cost. That radical left wing is not content to govern; it hungers to rule. Its decisions are so completely based on the pursuit of raw power that its actions no longer resemble the platform of the once- respectable Republican Party of days gone by, when they attracted few conservative Christians and we won local, state, and federal elections with regularity.
The scum of the earth, took full control of the democrat party, many moons ago. Either this idiot failed to notice as the party took it's extreme turn to the left and away from everything it once stood for or else he felt ill at ease and out of place in the once semni-honorable Dem party.
This guy's essay is a testiment to the fact that ignorance truly is bliss, to those who have chosen to be ignorant and really worked dilligently at becoming absolute damn fools.
by pro-people values i'm sure he was speaking of his party being for themselves.
by pro-people values i'm sure he was speaking of his party being for themselves. (most of them anyhow)
He'd have to leave out the ELF, ALF and PETA folks.
And the forged memos were faxed from a Texas Kinkos which appears to be the same one that the local Democratic party uses for meetings Guess where the democrats meet in Texas? - Kinko's

He forgot Lenin, Marx, Stalin, Pol Pot, Castro, Noriega, Ortega, Je$$e Jack$on, the Daleys, the Bulger Brothers, Teddy Kennedy, Al Gore, Mike Dukakis, Robert "KKK" Byrd, Hillary Clinton, Barney Frank, Mario Cuomo, Gray Davis, Joseph Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Walter Mondale, Ernest Hollings, Hugo Chavez, Che Guevara, Chretien, Tom Daschle, Tom Harkin, Howard Dean, Dennis Kucinich, Wesley, Ramsey and Richard Clark, Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos, Lawton Chiles, Torricelli, Frank Lautenberg, MacNamara, Chris Dodd and his criminal father, Buddy Cianci, etc., etc., etc. A high quality rogue's gallery, no? Speaking for this Bastion of Right-Wing Lunacy, we are proud to be part of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy.
Van Os will be elected to the Texas State Supreme Court when Texans begin wearing skirts and stop drinking beer.
My "voz" is better. Maybe I should run for office.
