Left-liberal BBC poll

TOPICS: Culture/Society; Foreign Affairs; Miscellaneous; United Kingdom
KEYWORDS: freep; hunting; liberalism; tonyblair; tradition; uk
Please freep this poll.

By way of background, the left-liberals of the United Kingdom, in cooperation with the radical animal rights groups and their communist allies in Britain, have in recent years begun trying to force a ban on hunting in the UK. They have already succeeded in banning foxhunting in Scotland. Yesterday Parliament passed a law which will outlaw hunting with dogs in 2006, though hunters from all over the UK protested vigorously outside of Parliament.

If you think this is about a bunch of rich people who want to keep on poncing about in red coats, think again. Ordinary people from hairdressers to deliverymen to kids on fat ponies hunt; it's not a sport just for the rich. But class hatred is so intense among leftists in Britain that they will do anything to injure those they hate. At times, this even takes the form of physical assault on hunters and the horses they love.

It's not just about a sport, either. Foxes are a serious agricultural pest in the UK, and there are no natural predators or diseases to keep them under control there. They cost British farmers a fortune as they ravage poultry and flocks of sheep. Other means of controlling them--poison, traps, shooting--have been tried without success and are in any case more cruel than dispatching them with the quick break of the neck a foxhound offers.

In addition, the entire foxhunting/horse breeding industry in Britain will be ruined and many thousands of people thrown out of work if this ancient sport is banned. Hunting creates a tremendous market for goods and services. Clothing manufacturers, hay suppliers, kennel workers, tack manufacturers, farriers, vets, trainers, horse breeders, horse-trailer companies, and scores of other jobs will be destroyed. A huge segment of England's economy faces ruin because of the ignorance and rapacious desire for control manifested by the tyrannical animal-rights freaks.

Please help show the ultra-liberal BBC that they cannot destroy an ancient part of British country life. Click here: http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/talking_point/3656492.stm?display=1

Unless and until they agree to take us back as a colony, I refuse to muck about in British politics.

The "unspeakable" pursuing the "inedible;" wasn't that the old line? The Torries today are, at least, "unpalatable." Labor (excepting Tony) are generally "unspeakable." They're out. And where does that leave the foxes? Without a voice in government! That's where. Out of the debate. This really shouldn't be decided until a fox council is (are?) convened.

My old cocker spaniel had the most perfect bird hunting instincts I ever saw. (And I grew up around hunting dogs.) Most of our hunting dogs were developed in Britain.

But I guess the dogs can't get endangered species priviledges.

I've been to a foxhunt. It was a ton of fun.

First, we got to stand around, sip Port or Sherry, and hobnob with the riders, horses and dogs.

Then we watched them release the first fox. The reason I say "first" is because this guy was slicker than Bill Clinton, and the hunt group lost the scent before they even got out of the parking lot.

Stand around, drink some more Port and Sherry. Second fox. Not as smart as the first. He gets chased for about a mile, as we jump in the car to trail the hunt. We don't even get out of the parking lot before they've lost the scent and are back.

More standing around. More drinking. Third fox. He needs training from the first two. We trail along in the car, sometimes right alongside the lead hunt party, as they jump the fences and hedges. One rider comes off in a spectacular crash, coats himself in mud, but is otherwise unhurt.

After about a half-hour, the third fox has gotten away as well, and it's time to give up for the day, and make our way to the pub for some beer and laughs.

By the way, I found out that all three foxes had been caught in local farmhouses stealing chickens or eggs, and instead of killing them, the farmers give them to the hunters, expecting that's the last they'll see of them. With the bunch of misfits we watched, the foxes are safe, but the chickens and eggs won't be.

Because if they get a poll that goes their way they use it as ammunition to defend their point of view.

Come on, Freepers! You love freedom! You love guns and hunting, most of you! And you hate leftists! So give me a hand here!

After two bouts of port and sherry, I'm surprised more of the hunters weren't tossed, if not maimed. Sounds like the rules give the foxes an unfair advantage.

I freeped the poll and posted these comments:

This great land that gave to the cause of FREEDOM the likes of the SAS; the PARAs and the famed Desert Rats, has sunk to the level of rabbits and sheeple in the face of terrorism and crime. Forget the hunting, think about perpetuating your status of living free and sovereign! Liberalism and Globalism threatens your imminent destruction.

You must regain personal control of your destiny. The US Constitution draws it's honorable heritage from English Common Law, including the "Liberty Teeth" we call our 2nd Amendment. You must repeal your gun laws and RE-ARM the PEOPLE. Throw out the POLS who would enslave you and render you unto the EU. The only way to take back the night is with force of arms, in defense of self and family. Israel understands this, as do the Swiss. Right now, 38 of 50 states have "Shall Issue" concealed carry laws (my state is one such and I have the means to protect my family at all times) and they WORK.

Forget the fox population. Right now the population of Britain are the hares and the hounds of global government and predatory criminals are sniffing hungrily at your heels.

Hey 2nd amendment folks! Freep the poll and BURY 'em in pro-gun comments!
