MORE RE: MRS. KNOX [Jed Babbin] Just spoke to another one of Dubya's squadron mates from the 111th. (I don't know how to do superscripts on e-mail). He passed on the Question of the Day for Mrs. Knox: You said that Mr. Bush got into the National Guard on the basis of preferential treatment "...because there were a lot of other boys in there the same way." The only reason it's an issue is because the DNC, McAuliffe, Kerry, Edwards, Harkin, CBS, Dan Rather,Clinton etc. have made it an issue.

Generally, you don't/didn't get into the Army or Air National Guard via a string puller for a Commissioned position.
When influence is brought to bear to get Johnnie into a safe Guard slot vs being drafted, it was 99 out of a 100 times into an Enlisted slot.
String pullers were in the Guard to do the minimumal amount of time, doing the minimal amount of work, with the minimum amount of responsibility. Their motivation was ADVOIDANCE, not to make a career choice.
I find it hard to believe that Bush was able to get strings pulled for a competitive commissioned position, especially one that would entail a significant active duty piece, a lot of risky training, a lot of time and responsibility back at the guard unit, and, etc.
So, was Ms Knox's son ENLISTED or COMMISSIONED?

Her son getting into the unit in 1972 that she was secretary of defies chance occurrence. 72 was a draft year, we're told that getting into the guard was difficult, and her son shows up on her doorstep?
She is likely guilty of a far more intricate pulling of strings that landed a son in a specific unit. Bush got into the NG without regard to which squadron.
The thing is. If Bush indeed did all of these things that Rather et al are accusing him of, I guarantee there is no way that it could have been covered up, such that the only "evidence" are fabricated memos and the recollections of an 86-year secretary. It would have been proved the first time he ran for governor here in Texas, much less his second run for POTUS.

This goes beyond just one election. Having a press manufacture evidence to attempt to undermine a sitting President has serious ramifications, and it must be nipped in the bud. Those responsible must pay, and pay dearly, starting right at the top of Viacom management.

I'm unclear on this. Is this a question actually posed to Knox, or a question that everyone would like to be asked of the old biddy?
Okay so 90% of people that age can't remember to take their morning meds. but even after saying she couldn't remember last week anything about Bush she all of a sudden after a day in the presence of Dan Rather can remember every detail of something that happened 33 years ago?
I wonder how long they had her wired up to a little electoshock therapy before she came around.

Mrs. Knox, do you consider the fact that your son got into the Guard unit preferential treatment? Or, have you just conveniently "forgot" that little tidbit of trivia because it doesn't fit your agenda?
