"Mary Jo Kopechne is the young woman that Ted murdered..." He did not murder her!! I hate that fat commie as much as the next guy but there is no need to lie. With that said, he was negligent in her death.

It's a blessing in disguise for the Dems. The more they trot out Evita and Otis, the more the middle ground shifts to Bush...

My God. Is it possible that Kerry's campaign staff is really this effing stupid?
To: sinclair
The term "vehiclar homicide" suggests murder and is applicable here.
We can also argue the point that having the ability to save someone from death and not can be construed as a form of murder.

I believe Mary Jo was from Larksville PA, Luzerne County. Can it be verified that teddy was scheduled to speak there specifically?
If so the dims are really really dim...I guess the advance team found out where they were soon enough to warn him off.

"Ted walked away and didn't report it to the police until his friends made him the next morning, leaving her to die."
Don't you mean he didn't report it until he was sure he'd sobered up?

Even after sobering up, Ted refused to report the incident until those close to him threatened to do so themselves.

The correct term for what happened is "homicide".

Do you actually think he was sober when he drove off that bridge? Is driving off a bridge while intoxicated, leaving the scene of the accident and not reporting it for over 12 hours simple negligence? Whether he was drunk or not, he failed to get help immediately and allowed that girl to sit in a submerged car for hours just to save his sorry ass. That's murder in my book.

I thought he was going to Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. Forty Fort isn't in the same county as either of them, right?
