The greatest hopes of conservatives and the worst fears of liberals have been realized during this presidential campaign. We now have a two-party press in which much of talk radio and the Internet, Fox television network, the Washington Times and conservative magazines form a phalanx against the long domination of print and the airwaves by the New York Times, the Washington Post and their imitators; the Associated Press and Newsweek; CBS; NBC; ABC; CNN and MSNBC; and National Public Radio.
For years events were "spun" through the liberal media network with nothing but lip service to journalistic ethics and occasional letters of outrage to restrain it. But not anymore. Not only did the new media practically force the old media to acknowledge that John Kerry's fellow Swift Boat commanders in Vietnam had serious criticisms of his claims to leadership; that old media now have to choke on the "bloggers" exposure of the "memo" fraud perpetrated at CBS evening news that George W. Bush failed to fulfill his Air National Guard duties over 30 years ago.

Unfortunately, Fox isn't as conservative as it once was but at least it's much better than the competition
Brit Hume has the best show on the air.
Don't forget about Rooters, they're even more "progressive" than the AP!
And the truth rears it's beautiful head.
Dan Rather to CNN: I appreciate the sources who took risks to authenticate our story.
It is clear that Rather/CBS is merely fronting for the agenda of its sources. It does not do the authenticating itself; it leaves that to its source(s). Guess who?
Oh yes, Reuters! They who will not say terrorism.
Dr. Reeb's column is worth the time. It is refreshing.
He's got a million of them, doesn't he?
Unfortunately, Fox isn't as conservative as it once was but at least it's much better than the competition
Agreed! They are trying to live up to their "fair and balanced" mantra, but I cannot stomach Alan Colmes. He tries to paint liberalism as a better alternative to conservatism and, in doing so, casts doubts in the minds of our weaker brethren.
And we just launched an Alpha Strike that could very well shatter CBS.
Any other media weasels want to carelessly saunter up to the FEBA?
Look, we accept that you'll be slanted, but if you don't start policing yourselves and cull the hacks out of your profession, we'll do it for you.
But you won't like the fallout.
Someone posted excerpts from Eric Hoffer yesterday and I thought that they made a better point.
Hoffer wrote about how literacy was only the domain of the elite who could then tell we poor unwashed what to think. Then revolution for liberty came when literacy became more available. His writings (ca. 1960s?) reflected his view that he would not see such liberation in his lifetime.
He is gone, but we are witnessing the liberation from the MSM's feudal order in which the NYT sets the agenda and the opinions that we are supposed to have.
I am truly amazed at the mental illness in the Dan (people don't like me; pajama bloggers are Republican conspirators out to get him). The more he is on the air, the more laughable is the MSM.
It would seem that some in the media are beginning to understand the seriousness of the situation. CBS is oblivious.
"Fox isn't as conservative as it once was but at least it's much better than the competition"
I don't mind that so much - they still have a place for conservative viewpoints, which is more than you can say for the others.
I think FOX is moving just right of center to soak up more of an audience that will, for the first time in their lives, be exposed to competing ideas and values.
And that's good.
We don't need a "conservative" network preaching to the choir. We need a "fair and balanced" network that will also appeal to Liberals so that the Liberals, for maybe the first time in there lives, can be exposed to points of view that have not been filtered through the Liberal news media.
The more he drags this out, the more we win.
Exposer is his enemy now.
The crucial first step in that was taken by Ronald Reagan in 1967 when he killed the "Fairness Doctrine" which inhibited political controvesy on the radio. Without that, no Rush Limbaugh.
"Britt Hume has the best program on the air"...I agree.
They're ACTING.
Ronald Reagan was truly a gift from God.
