Is there a CBS affiliate in Abilene? Why wouldn't or couldn't they use their fax machine? Anonymity. Keep the office gossip to a minimum. It's a big story. If the bigshots from NYC come in the local affiliate, well, you know how reporters keep secrets.

Abilene is home to several Television stations including KRBC (NBC Channel 9), KTXS (ABC Channel 12), KXVA (Fox Channel 15), KTAB (CBS Channel 32), and KIDZ (UPN/PAX Channel 54).

Especially if it's a Nielsen "C" market affiliate...
