In Texas, 20 miles is around the corner. I dare say most folks in Baird go into "town" (Abilene) at least once a week. Sure there are FAX machines in Baird, these docs might have been prepared on a Kinko's computer to keep Burkett's hard drive clean. Same reason you'd want to use an "untraceable" fax.

And it would be better to fax them from out-of-town Abilene rather than home-town Baird. No witnesses that way.

Perhaps someone from the Kerry campaign or DNC got the memos from Barnes and faxed them in Abeline before flying out. Or maybe it was done later to make a trail to Burkett. I'd like to see the date and time on those documents.
