"People will be fired, the program loses its credibility and Dan Rather ends a distinguished career with his reputation besmirched,"

I for one can hardly contain my glee!

Knox indicated that she is not a Bush supporter, but remembers him fondly because he was always pleasant and respectful toward her.

This is just too much.

Yesterday Knox said she'd never met Bush!

Which is it?

Just out of curiosity, are there any legal ramifications in the future for CBS, does it amount to some form of slandering? Anything?

Dan should be fired, hopefully, but then He will write a book and make 20 million. What a complete reason to puke!

Every expert who has been asked say that these documents are forged. What declaration and by whose authority/testimony will CBS accept responsibility for using false documents to sway voters against President Bush? As far as I am concerned, CBS will never admit that they are guilty of fraud and therefore will always contend that the documents are not forgeries, everyone else be damned.

Son says she was not Killians private secretary, but typed for everyone. So she would not be privy to how his father felt. She also said in an interview and couple days ago....and again on CBS that one of the things about Bush ..he was so polite that I thought he must have wonderful parents to raise such a nice man. Then in the next breath said, He had a bad attitude.

So did they say who the forger is?

And who gave the forged memos to CBS?

This is a Presidential election and it appears that a very serious crime was perpetrated in an effort to skew the balloting.

CBS should cooperate fully with law enforcement.

"People will be fired, the program loses its credibility and Dan Rather ends a distinguished career with his reputation besmirched," Grossman added.

Yes, I hope this happens sooner Rather than later.

>last week, Knox said she had no firsthand knowledge of Bush's >time with the Texas Air National Guard, although she did >recall a culture of special treatment for the sons of >prominent people, such as Bush and others.

So they are accusing the President of the United States of a military criminal offense on the basis that an 86 year old woman's (that is probably too old to drive) OPINION of a CULTURE of special treatment. Not even an EXACT accusation of Bush, but a culture. Total BS all the way.

The real issue is that Rather did not present these documents last week as questionable, he presented them as factual, authenticated documents. Now to change the story, he's been proven to have lied, and his own words convict him of that. He misled the viewers to get his point of view accepted to make a stronger, but false, case against Bush. If last week he had presented them as documents that had come to him, but that he could not attest to their validity, we would all be screaming "foul", Rather would still have been accused of being biased or partisan, but he wouldn't be accused of lying in a way that could make it stick. Well, that is not what he did. He presented one side of a story without presenting both sides to allow the public to decide. He, in his arrogance, decided himself for the "little people". That's why I like Fox News. The "We report, you decide" motto is what I like about it. When there are two sides, they present both sides.

If this were a criminal case in California, and Rather were the prosecutor, he would be censured by the court for not revealing that he had exculpatory evicence, that he was railroading an innocent defendant to prison.
