Tell your local CBS outlet what you think about Heyward-Rather
Mr. Martin:
As the leader of a media outlet which has enjoyed the approbation and reaped the financial benefits of being a major northern New England/New York outlet for the past 50 years, I think it is incumbent upon you to tell CBS News President Andrew Heyward that on behalf of your viewers you object to the total obfuscation of Dan Rather et al on the issue of President Bush's military records.
President Bush has released his Form 180.
Candidate Kerry has not!
You might ask Mr. Heyward why he does not direct Rather to investigate the "V for Valor" cluster on Kerry's "Silver Star".....and honor that does not exist on the Silver Star.
You might also ask him to tell Rather to find out how an individual can receive 3 Purple Hearts without any evidence of surgery on his medical records.
New Englanders rely on WCAX for honest reporting.....apparently we cannot rely on the network with which you are affiliated in the same way.
Sincerely,
James F.
Got the local and the cBS/Rat HQ's also.
I have found the best way to zap my CBS affiliate. We have Comcast cable which has a feature allowing us to block out any channel we find offensive. And since some of the rating information is based upon cable data, locking out CBS affiliates will hurt CBS and Viacom in the pocketbook.
Amen to you sir!
Sent a similar note to the Tampa CBS affiliate last week. I'll let you know if I ever get a reply !
Greetings from the Hurricane state
They think they will outlast us pajama wearers, they our seriously mistaken.
We are the New Media.
I also wrote my local CBS affiliate in Boston, but I was not as eloquent as either of you.
Thank you for your service.
I am curious though how your sign up date on FR is tomorrow.
Quirky FR sometimes I suppose. Welcome!
A good phone number for CBS is (212)975-3247. You can leave a message now , then call back tomorrow if you wish.
I called the Tampa CBS affiliate last week and got a very rude reply. They told me that it was none of their business what CBS did and I should take it up with CBS.
I told them I would take it up with the local sponsors of their local news programs!
So Detroit was on the cutting edge of this one. About 10 years ago the local CBS affiliate dumped CBS for FOX. CBS had to settle for channel 62.. way up the dial.
Ivan looks like a bitch...no feminist slur intended!
Complain to CBS advertisers. Most of these are advertisers that were involved with the 60 Minutes slam on Bush, but hey, complain to them and ask for them to pull their advertising from the Bush Hating CBS...

We're well out of the way of Ivan, but Charley and Frances came real close
I suspected that would be the case when I got no response to the email
Thanks for your efforts
Greetings fellow VT Freeper. I wrote WCAX a similar email the other day. I haven't heard back from them. I'm sure we're not the only ones.
A better tatic is to notify any LOCAL advertisers of your intentions. I just sent emails to several local companies and the local CBC affiliate's sales dept.
Thank you for the contact info. I sent polite e-mails to Campbells and Splenda. I do use and like their products, and I truly am unhappy that they sponsor those yo-yos at CBS.
If we focus on a few affiliates we can realy send them a wake up call. So everyone e-mail or call Cleveland!!!

"I am informed that the head of a CBS affiliate in a large East Coast city is telling viewers who call in that he wants Rather to apologize on 60 Minutes and then resign. This local network official reportedly plans to present the flood of critical emails he has been getting to the network heads in New York.
I suspect this gentleman is not alone."
