SECRETARY TO BUSH'S NATIONAL GUARD COMMANDER SAYS SHE DIDN'T TYPE THE MEMOS BUT THAT THEIR CONTENT IS TRUE IN AN INTERVIEW ON THE CBS EVENING NEWS AND ON 60 MINUTES Wed Sep 15 2004 18:57:00 ET
September 15, 2004
Marian Knox, the secretary to President Bush's National Guard commander, Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, says the content in controversial memos is true but that she did not type them. Knox, who said she was Killian's "right hand," appears in an interview with Dan Rather on the CBS EVENING NEWS and on tonight's edition of 60 MINUTES. A transcript of Evening News report follows. Transcripts of the 60 MINUTES report will be available later this evening.

If this lady is anything like my 86 year old mother-in-law, her memory is "clear as a bell" regarding events that happened 40 or more years ago, but she doesn't recognize her own grandchildren when they come to visit.
OTOH, if she is like my 80 year old mother, she has a fuzzy memory of things that happened 30 years ago, but is a koolaid Democrat who believes with a perfect faith everything Dan Rather said on the last episode of "60 Minutes."
The new DNCBS News standard!
MY GOD! IS THIS ALL THEY HAVE? BWHAAAAAA!
But the Houston Chronicle reported today:
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/nation/2796630
"...Last week, Knox said she had no firsthand knowledge of Bush's time with the Texas Air National Guard, although she did recall a culture of special treatment for the sons of prominent people, such as Bush and others..."
Did the Chronicle reporters contact Knox last week, and said she did not have firsthand knowledge?
These journalists got a scoop, perhaps.
OH my GOSH!! CBS is trying to get the viewers to believe this story without documents ONCE they tried to show us FRAUDULENT ones. Ok, Public it's time we fight....boycott CBS, boycott any company that advertises with CBS and more importantly use every might you have to keep this fraudulent document, done by CBS and possibly DNC involved, out there....this is a sad day for public TV and CBS and memogate is not going away!
CBS will have her do as many takes as neccesary until she sounds convincing.
The whiff of desperation. Sad.
The reason the CBS Bulletin came out as late as it did was because it took that long for the Rather interview to get the information wanted to carry his story. Look for a heavily edited interview with Ms. Knox tonight.
she also says the documents are forgeries...
so...
WHERE DID YOU GET FORGED DOCUMENTS DAN???
Looks like he's got a date for the dog track.
Nah, they just told her that if she helped, then Bush couldn't take away her Social Security check.
Attention Freepers:
Please go here for today's rebuttal in the Kerry Spot section of National Review:

So let me get this straight, Rather is hiding behind a little old lady? You know, isn't that what the coward fighters in Fallujah do? Hide behind women and children?? You know, I didn't think the left could get any lower, when at the DNC Kerry said cancer patient Mary Ann Knowles was forced to work during her chemotherapy "because she was terrified of losing her family's health insurance." Not so, the newspaper found. Ms. Knowles actually had 26 weeks of paid disability but chose to work through her treatment. (http://pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/opinion/archive/s_207754.html)
Now, Rather under an old lady's dress.
What's next? Taking children hostage? Oh, that was done last week..
This is just sick. The memos are fake. Unless this woman knows who forged them or passed them off to seeBS, she is totally irrelevant!
She never tells the same story twice. She told the Houston Chronicle that she had no personal knowledge of Bush's actions, then told the Dallas Morning News that the contents of the memos are accurate because she knew about Bush's actions.
The woman is not credible.
You're right that she hasn't been consistent, but that may be a tough sell to the vast majority of voters, who will spare this story about 15 seconds of real thought. They will immediately grasp that Knox is a nice old lady; they will not immediately grasp that she has made inconsistent statements.
Rather is really shimmying under the limbo stick--can it go lower? I'm going to go find some limbo music to go with the booze for tonight's 60 minutes party.
