If the Killian papers are a set-up, meant to discredit, distract, deflect (all of which they’ve done splendidly, whoever’s behind them), he knows who’s waiting in the weeds around the bend: people who will stop at nothing.

Just what I was thinkin'...

And I believe our condescending friend got his Emerson quote wrong too, if I'm not mistaken it was Machiavelli that said, "If you strike at a king you must kill him".

"(leaving aside how suspiciously well Buckhead puts sentences together for a righty blogger)"

Yeah, he doesn't use the "F" word in every sentencs.

I was reprising the scene from "Spartacus". After all, the original piece seems to hint that the MSM is looking for the perpetrator in all this.

1. The writer has no idea whether the documents are real or not. That makes him uninformed and lazy.

2. He thinks if you put sentences together well you are unusual for a "righty blogger". That means he is not well read in the area he is criticizing.

3. He clearly has not taken the time to read and sift through and understand the analysis of the documents which is available all over the web now. All he knows it used to take weeks, this tme it took hours, and that means there is something suspicious about it.

In other words, he thinks like an Old Media hack.

Well, guess what: it used to take days to travel across the state in a wagon. It now takes hours. Technology happens. Some of us have kept up. Those who haven't write long columns displaying their ignorance and paranoia.

Yes, of course. Because those of us out here posting on these boards don't have journalism degrees from universities, we're obviously not capable of writing in coherent sentences that aren't loaded with grammatical errors.

(rolling my eyes in sarcasm....)

On a somewhat related note....I've wondered what happened to HON, a banned poster who started the Kerry Swift Boat lies threads months ago. He knew a lot about it, seemed to be here on that one note only and was very active bringing this into the light...then just gone....anyone know why?

This is actually quite encouraging -- this NY Observer writer thinks we're all completely stupid (after all, we're all right wing nut-case bloggers) and that the only thing that has upset the Kerry Juggernaut was this skillful sinister plot controlled by the GOP and Right Wing Controllers of the New Media. Wow! Let's hope they keep these prejudices and ignorant opinions firmly in their wee brains for the balance of this election season.

They're in bigger trouble than I ever suspected.

This writer needs to undertand that if some of us had taken journalism we'd have easier jobs but be making much less money.

Mr. Rather’s report hadn’t been over 10 minutes when a post appeared on the right-wing Web site FreeRepublic.com from "TankerKC," saying the documents were "not in the style that we used when I came into the USAF … can we get a copy of those memos?"

This bothers me too. It seems we're slacking. 10 whole minutes?? C'mon guys we're better than that. Next time let's get it down to a minute or so.

First (leaving aside how suspiciously well Buckhead puts sentences together for a blogger),

I quit reading right there. But I am happy that the far left continues to treat us like Bush - as mentally inferior - even as we kick their collective asses up one wall and down the other.

I know--what's boggling arcana to them was simply a working-out of a puzzle or following clues in a mystery novel. FReepers had a good time--guess that crowd doesn't see a good time when it happens.

A lot of the fun was realizing the contrast between what was and what now is in creating printed documents--how amazing the things we take for granted. And taking this for granted is what tripped up the Forger.

People started poking at memories of using a typewriter--and so many of those memories are of inconvenience, rubbing a piece of paper into holes trying to erase an error....Typing class--where you had to memorize long lists of hyphenated words so you could make the margins look even. The dinging of a bell--having to slap back the thingie. What was that thingie we slapped back for each line?

For me, it jogged some very pleasant memories of making printed projects in Industrial Arts Print Shop. I remember typesetting, jobsticks--the inky smells and the pleasant sound of the presses banging away. I liked my shop teachers--practical artisans doing a practical thing. I remember how elegant a page of handset type looked--for all the perfection of modern home printers, hand-set type had a cachet all its own.

A good time. How pitiful the liberals are...they can't seem to have any fun at all.
