Statement by the President of CBS News, Andrew Heyward:
"We established to our satisfaction that the memos were accurate or we would not have put them on television. There was a great deal of coroborating [sic] evidence from people in a position to know. Having said that, given all the questions about them, we believe we should redouble our efforts to answer those questions, so that's what we are doing.
If they vetted the documents as well as they edited Mr. Heywood's statement, they are in real trouble!

They said they were going to make a press release on the issue at 12:00, 3:00, 3:30, 5:00 and still have nothing. This release by Heyward means they STILL have nothing - don't expect anything more today.
Amazing, they beat the dead horse, now they're dragging it behind the truck!
"By now Lord he stinketh!"
CBS is paying its lawyers a gazillion dollars an hour to come up with lame excuses like this. My little boys can do better than that on-the-fly and for free.
Good Grief .. They are FAKES!
Well ... looks to me that CBS is covering up Big Time for someone and it ain't Dan
I know eight-year-old kids who can do better on the fly.
