This looks about right. The anchor plants an anchor on a story that will pull him to his watery grave and the network is trying to find a delicate way to extricate themselves from Rather's insanity.

I just talked to my parents in Mobile and according to them, the waves and rain is just starting to pick up....and my dad is always looking for a silver lining - they have a bradford pear in their front yard that he hates and he's been sitting on the front porch hoping to see it tumble....hey, at least he's keeping a good attitude. but yes, according to fox and the local station in mobile, 42 ft waves....and i like you screen name - my mom's is jewel (or as she says "precious gem")

Nah, Karl Rove used a time machine to an ANG office in the early 70s and provided them with a modern computer with M.S. Word. After the memos were created, he took the computer back to hide the evidence.

I know this because its the only way that the documents could be both authentic and at the same time a dirty trick by Karl Rove.

Doesn't wash, if memos are fake then story is discredited because the implication is that the story needed to be dressed up as memos to be credible.

But if an 86 year-old, admitted Bush hater and Dan Rather say the allegations in the fake memos are true, who are you to question them?

It's from Heyward, and he says that CBS stands by the documents, but in light of the questions it will redouble its efforts to answer them.

Hannity just reported from a source "inside CBS" they're going to go on offense tonight and continue to insist the memos could have been created at the time.
