Mrs. Knox said signs of forgery abound in the four memos.
She said the typeface on the documents did not match either of the two typewriters that she used during her time with the Guard. She identified those machines as a mechanical Olympia typewriter and the IBM Selectric that replaced it in the early 1970s.
She spoke fondly of the Olympia, which she said had a key with the "th" superscript character that has been the focus of much debate in the CBS memos.
Beyond that issue, experts have said that the Selectric and mechanical typewriters such as the Olympia could not produce the proportional spacing found in the disputed documents.

She's trying to say the memos are fake but the information in them is consistent with what she remembers Killian felt at the time.
In the process she is making Rather-Like errors in fact.
For instance in a Matt Drudge interview today she says "It was General Staudt, not then Lt. Colonel Hodges [who succeeded Staudt], that was putting on the pressure to whitewash Bush. For instance he didnt take his flight examination or his physical. And the pilots had to take them by their birthdays. Once in a while there would be a reason why a pilot would miss these things because some of them were commercial pilots. But they had to make arrangements to take their exams."
But Staudt was the one who had retired 18 months before the memo. And the memo was written several months BEFORE Bush's birthday....so why would Killian be ordering to take a physical when the deadline was not even near?

Her testimony is useless to either side and no one should place their trust in this decrepit old taxeater.
It can be easily proven that these memos are complete forgeries simply through documentary evidence.

last week she knew nothing about anything. now she supposedly does. Her only story that is consistent is that she never wrote the memo's and never would have. Apparently she's the new white hope for CBS and what they're going to say they're basing the story on rather than give into any kind of retraction.
A mechanical Olympia? We don't know how old it's supposed to be to even begin looking. I tried to google up Olympia/typewriter/vintage...then realized I don't have a date to work with.
What we need is a typewriter repair-person. One with grey hair.

I've wondered about that inconsistency too. One possible explanation would be that Lt. Bush had not taken his physical by the end of the month of his birthday the year before. If he was 10 months overdue, it would account for an urgent memo and a direct order to take care of it ASAP. I think the whole controversy is a crock, but does anyone have info on when he last did take a physical?
As Freepers have pointed out many times previously, a raised "th" from a typewriter is completely different from a superscript "th" from a word processor.
She's just confirming what we already knew.

No, it isn't. People have all sorts of attachments to old machines; that's why we collect them. I have quite a few old computers and, yes, a couple of old typewriters.
Someone somewhere once said "old car nuts get respect, but old computer nuts are just plain nuts".
I believe she was supposed to be brought forward at this time as part of a schedule for Operation fortunate son.
She was supposed to either say she was the one who typed the memos OR worse the DNC had planed on the memos being discredited and then using her to be the new"memo" by testifying as to the military base gossip.
She is a fraud.
I don't care how rich ANYONE is, the military does not just give F102 for joy rides.
BTW any fighter pilots out there? Is flying the F102 fun? I have heard the current pilots say they enjoy fighter jet flying.

Just to add insult to injury, I also keep an old typewriter just in case in th office.
F-102 was basically a rocket with stubby wings. Not a joy-riding plane. But then again, to hear the armchair LIBBIES, who've been as close to the military as I have to the moon, the F-102 was akin to a Piper Cub.
She's 86 and probably doesn't remember what she had for breakfast this morning.
