I just read the Border's thread. I'd be sending it to quite a few places. As someone said on FR yesterday, this is the internet, don't post anything you don't want to see on a billboard, LOL!
I asked to be put on a list for the book at Border's weeks ago. I got a phone call beginning of Spetember saying it was in and they'd hold it for 3 days. I got the message late and they said they gave the book to someone else ("because it's in such high demand."). So I had it put on hold again because the gal said they'd get more in most likely (this past) Monday. I still haven't heard.
I found it at BN Sunday night (they had at least a dozen or more copies) in the bestseller section. I read 55 pages while sitting there, bought it and I'll be finished soon, long before Border's calls me to tell me it's finally in.
Woo Hoo is right. Way to go dnm.
I bookmarked the whole Border's thread...I'm not very computer literate but let me know if I can help.
LOL, I wondered the same thing!
Likely Boarders will take down the comments when this gets around.
So did I, and received a very prompt reply:
Hi John,
We saw it this morning... yikes. Thanks so much for passing this along though!

Also, I have an info on one of the emails listed on the Regnery page.
You have reached the expiring email address for Harry McCullough. If this is concerning Regnery Publishing trade sales, please contact Alex Novak at anovak@eaglepub.com or (202) 216-0601. If you need to contact Harry McCullough specifically, he can be reached at hmccullough@mevans.com or (212) 688-2810.
So I sent a copy of my original e-mail to Alex Novak also :)
Darn, I couldn't find it at my Sam's. I finally found it at BN for $19 something.
Great job, BG!
The publisher should simply refuse to take back damaged books and should charge Borders for all delivered. The emails offer ample proof of vandalism. Let Borders pay for the misdeeds of employees. Better yet, the can send the bill to the union.
I ordered my copy from Amazon in July and just received it last week. Along with Unfit, I ordered American Soldier by Tommy Franks. Both books came in one box. The box was considerably bigger than the two books and the books were just thrown in - no paper, no packing materials ... just two books and a packing slip banging around in the box. Dinged up all the corners pretty good.
"At our store, we are having a lot of people walking in wearing their pajamas and wanting to buy Unfit For Command..Does anyone know if there is a "no pajamas in store rule"?.."
and what the hell do we get in return

A job you leftist pos or have you forgotten that it is the customers who actually pay your salary, just like it is the taxpayer who actually pays for a whole host of other services said cashier probably accesses, not the "government".

Our store manager just informed us that he has received a memo from corporate that anyone caught hiding Unfit For Command,in their socks or anywhere else, will be fired on the spot..Also, he said it was OK to sell books to people wearing pajamas but that employees were not allowed to wear them in the store.."
Notice the "In the socks" reference to a certain person who stole classified documents.
BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!! I am having SO much fun!!

On the other hand, I was in the B&N in Santa Monica last weekend--as liberal a bastion as you can find--and they had "Unfit" front and center in the store, on its own table with lots of copies.
The left is just so very, very pathetic.
Just emailed this to 483 talk radio & newspaper contacts around the country...
What do you suppose this means??
