New Navy Document Challenges Kerry's Combat Valor In the midst of a formal Navy investigation into whether Sen. John Kerry's Vietnam war decorations had been falsified, a new document has surfaced that casts doubt on his claim that he acted with valor in the action that earned him a Silver Star with Combat V. But the Navy after action report, obtained Tuesday by syndicated TV commentator Mark Hyman of "The Point," states that he merely chased down a lone, wounded enemy who was running away and shot him. In 1996, Kerry Swiftboat mate Thomas Bellodeau challenged the top Democrat's account, revealing that he fired the first shot that hit the VC. Only then did Kerry hunt the wounded enemy down and finish him off behind a hut. You know, I shot that guy," Bellodeau told the Boston Globe. "He jumped up, he looked right at me, I looked at him. You could tell he was trying to decide whether to shoot or not. I expected the guy on Kerry's boat with the twin 50s to blast him, but he couldn't depress the guns far enough. We were up on the bank." Bellodeau died in 1997 and Kerry spoke at his funeral - but the presidential candidate has never corrected the record that gives him credit for Bellodeau's act of bravery. John O'Neill, a leader of the Swiftvets running anti-Kerry TV ads, told the New York Post that the document uncovered by Hyman shows Kerry "was pursuing a wounded man and not charging alone into superior numbers and intense fire," as his Silver Star citation claims. The Silver Star with Combat V citation that appears on Kerry's campaign web site bears the signature of former Navy Secretary John Lehman. But Lehman said two weeks ago that he never signed the Kerry award, raising questions about whether his signature had been forged. Reacting to Lehman's comments, a Navy spokesman told the Chicago Sun-Times that the service has never issued a Silver Star with Combat V to anyone.

Kerry won the Silver Star after claiming he single-handedly shot a Vietcong guerilla with a loaded rocket launcher while patrolling the Mekong Delta.
John Kerry On the Record
108-108-108-108-108
Mr Kerry, Can you say "Leavenworth Disciplinary Barracks?"
Thought you could..........
The common character of those two things is that they are so egregious that they "beg" to be challenged.<<<< ..BEGS!...BEGS!....Its seared...seared in his own damned records!!!!!
What is Imus's hangup with Pork Chops??
I like pork chops and eat them often.
Does that make me a pork chop suckin idiot?
Would he call his worship the Reverend JJackson a chicken suckin idiot?
Would he call himself a tofu suckin senile idiot?
?? i dont get it ??
"- It gets worse. There are actually three versions of Kerry's activities that day, each with a different wording and take on the events. There is the After Action Report itself, then a write up for the Commendation which accompanied the medal when Kerry was first awarded the Silver Star and finally the wording of the Commendation signed, supposedly by Lehman, some years later. All documents have a different take on what he did. As you might expect, each version gets more and more extravagant in praising his heroism the more separated in time from the actual event they become."
JFKerry used the Senate to become a "vietnam warlord" and fellow traveler coalition builder..... no wonder he had no time for "INTEL" committee hearings. Kinda questions his "patriotism".
The only diciplinary action that could be taken would be under UCMJ, and, since he is no longer in the military, those laws don't apply to him...unfortunately.
He does, however, have to answer to the laws of decency as enforced by the people--the people who will keep him out of office.
"HMMMMM, it must be a forgery right? From now on the Dims will say that about everything."
If there are some damning documents on Kerry still to surface, it may be that this whole forgery thing is a calculated risk designed to discredit any of future Kerry info.
The question is, would Rather and the DNC do something this risky?
It won't necessarily discredit further Kerry info, but it does keep it from the front page.
Just maybe they thought they could dismiss their critics as "right wing wackos". Maybe they just didn't think their MSM bretheren would also take up the attack on these "documents".
Maybe it's sweeps week or something, LOL LOL LOL
