Live Thread: Kerry on Imus (starts 7:29 EST 09/15/04)
Imus Radio Show ^ | 09/15/04 | Don Imus

Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry will be the guest at 7:29 am eastern. Senator Kerry has a lot of convincing to do, beginning with the I-Man.. whose support has waned in recent weeks. Despite several polls to the contrary, both campaigns acknowledge a 5-6 point lead for President Bush. Many analysts say it's a result of a post convention bump, and the GOP's ability to make the focus of the election national security and Kerry's record. The challenge for the Senator is to now put the emphasis back on domestic issues while separating the War in Iraq from the War on Terrorism. Can he turn the tide while continuing to play defense? Can he turn all the anti-Bush sentiment into a spark that ignites the Democratic base? Does he think it will ultimately come down to the debates? Will he finally be able to clearly frame his views on Iraq? Is John Edwards the VP candidate he thought he would be? John Kerry has his work cut out.. but, he can take a big step forward on Wednesday morning when/IF he answers the tough questions from IMUS.

"We did vote for the funding. I voted for the largest defense budgets in the history of our country."

Says the war started before Bush asked for the equipment, so Kerry's off the hook for it.

Lost jobs? Isn't the unemployment rate the same or lower than it was during Toon's admin?

Ya know I think Imus is a good interviwer, but he has to stop his filibuster.

If he said that, he better clarify it.
New medical procedures graft to grow skin.
From reading your post, I am imagining that a burn is being treated and regenerating skin from grafting to each other. A real doctor could elaborate, but he better watch his mouth.

Softball questions. Vague answers, or answers he can't delibver, e.g., will inspect more containers, will increase protection on nuclear power generating plants, will add local police (with federal funds?) to keep an eye on people in the communities, would not alienate France and Germany. Going onto the injured at Walter Reed, because we don't have armoured humvees. Bush should have listened to Shinsheki. Runsfeld should be fired, or resign. Abu Grahib. SHould not have gone to Iraq (he's against it now). The Jersey girls being brought up. Bush has not been proactive. Wandering answer.

Back to Iraq - troops don't have the equipment. Imus takes it back to the war on terror. Have we just been lucky there is no attack? JK: some credit to FBI and CIA, yes doing better, but not good enough. Can still get in on forged passports. In general, terror worldwide is UP. The number of troops KIA is up in July and August (looking at Iraq). Brings up Jersey girls, the war in Iraq is not the war on terror -- we should focus on Osama and Al Quaeda.

"Terror is up around the world...and the number of troops killed has been up every month and the fact is we have whole areas of Iraq where American troops can't go...9.11 widows said war in Iraq is not principal war we are focused on...AlQ knocked towers down and they aren't in Iraq. Iraq not the focus...focus was WMD and pres. has misled America.
