Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry will be the guest at 7:29 am eastern. Senator Kerry has a lot of convincing to do, beginning with the I-Man.. whose support has waned in recent weeks. Despite several polls to the contrary, both campaigns acknowledge a 5-6 point lead for President Bush. Many analysts say it's a result of a post convention bump, and the GOP's ability to make the focus of the election national security and Kerry's record. The challenge for the Senator is to now put the emphasis back on domestic issues while separating the War in Iraq from the War on Terrorism. Can he turn the tide while continuing to play defense? Can he turn all the anti-Bush sentiment into a spark that ignites the Democratic base? Does he think it will ultimately come down to the debates? Will he finally be able to clearly frame his views on Iraq? Is John Edwards the VP candidate he thought he would be? John Kerry has his work cut out.. but, he can take a big step forward on Wednesday morning when/IF he answers the tough questions from IMUS.

I think this "interview" this morning shows that Kerry has no new thoughts or ideas. He only set himself up for impeachment on some of his comments.

The point is that Kerry knew Imus wouldn't and that was why Kerry chose to appear. This says more about Kerry than it does about Imus.
Don't know......I have an automatic brain switch that clicks "Off" when Kerry speaks. It's no wonder that Terayzah is "Off" w/having to listen to him around the house...er, mansion.
His own handlers can't stop Kerry from doing that.
At least two are implied but I'd have to read a transcript to see.
Imus' best question is, "How's that workin' out for ya?"
So when he had shared with Craig Crawford his opinion that Kerry/Edwards needed to take the gloves off ... was he leading Crawford like a seasoned lawyer too?
Kerry contridicted himself... he demands the President tell him his plan for Iraq but he won't tell what his CABINET will be? Heck, at this point in 2000 we knew Powell would be part of of the Administration
Any interview with him is bound to be terrible. He's the clinical definition of a narcissist and any puncturing of his persona is guaranteed to cause a blowup. The campaign reporters are probably relieved thay're not allowed to talk with him anymore.

Talking is not enough. Imus had an opportunity to challenge him on his obvious misstatements and omissions. There is a reason he goes on these shows--he gets to make his points to a freindly interviewer. We see what a liar Kerry is, but the general public doesn't get the same impression.
The only "180" Kerry hasn't done is an SF180
Do you think his performance there will encourage him to move out?

It seems to me his performance was mixed. He messed up on a few of the questions, and he must be cognizant of the questions Imus could have asked but didn't.
On the other hand, no NEW gaffes, just the same old ones.
Imus voted for Clinton in at least 92. He later realized he was a phoney. I think Imus has Kerry pegged now.
Imus is ripping him now....funny. Says he didn't have any idea what the hell he said....
He's my candidate and I have no idea what he is saying. He tried to trick him about abu graib.
He has to get fired up etc.
