Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry will be the guest at 7:29 am eastern. Senator Kerry has a lot of convincing to do, beginning with the I-Man.. whose support has waned in recent weeks. Despite several polls to the contrary, both campaigns acknowledge a 5-6 point lead for President Bush. Many analysts say it's a result of a post convention bump, and the GOP's ability to make the focus of the election national security and Kerry's record. The challenge for the Senator is to now put the emphasis back on domestic issues while separating the War in Iraq from the War on Terrorism. Can he turn the tide while continuing to play defense? Can he turn all the anti-Bush sentiment into a spark that ignites the Democratic base? Does he think it will ultimately come down to the debates? Will he finally be able to clearly frame his views on Iraq? Is John Edwards the VP candidate he thought he would be? John Kerry has his work cut out.. but, he can take a big step forward on Wednesday morning when/IF he answers the tough questions from IMUS.

He says, I've said a hundred different times we should not have gone to war in Iraq.
I think he should have said, I have had a hundred different views on whether we should have
gone to war in Iraq.
Doesn't matter.. Imus gave him rope to hang himself.
Madeline NOTbright, Susan Estrich and Maureen Dowd are all single. Any takers.
What a phony.....he makes no sense....Bush will eat his lunch in debates...Imus asked him about his records and Kerry lied his a$$ off...but he didn't ask about signing form 180...missed the KO punch...lurch would have had to answer..but it's getting close...
Bernard feeds Imus many of the questions. I'm disappointed he didn't hit him up about the three SS Citations.
The comments coming up among the IMUS crew after the newsbreak might be good.
Galanti said, "Kerry gave for free what I and many of my comrades in prison camps took torture to avoid saying."
Galanti appears in this new Swift Boat ad targeting Kerry's 1971 Senate speech that accused U.S. soldiers of being war criminals. It is a speech, Galanti says, that was used against him and other POW's by the North Vietnamese.
"They had it pumped in at five o'clock in the morning," said Galanti about Kerry's speech, "and then at nine at night there'd be a re-run."
"I remember distinctly hearing this guy talking about atrocities, baby killers," Galanti added. "They're chopping off ears, hooking genitals to generators, and I thought, that's not true. There's no way that's true!"
If Mr. Galanti has a problem with that...?!
Another softball intereview ala The Daily Show. Kerry is still in hiding choosing safe venues to emerge out of his spider hole. The media has been derelict in not demanding that a man running for President make himself available for a press confrerence in the middle of a campaign. This is truly unbelievable.
Pathetic!!! Kerry says it is too "complicated" for him to give a plan to exit Iraq so he won't answer that question which Bush should answer instead. Talk about a LACK of leadership!!!
All the time. It's the only adult entertaiment on television.
He preceded it with "intially". Which implies there were subsequent documents sent him that have not been disclosed. He has left the door open for retaining docs without lying.
Terrible interview.
Well, I guess that's it.
Six more weeks of election season, as Kerry goes back into his hole from the press.
I think Kerry's gonna hold off on that presser for a while longer. What is it, thirty-something days and counting now?
Exactly. He doesn't have a plan. He just blames Bush. Bush hatred won't get him into the White House (I hope)
Imus shouldn't have let him drone on and on and on and on...
He's talking.. Imus got the questions in... he talked Viet Nam.. Imus doesnt have to slam him... thats our job :)
Only adult entertainment other than C-SPAN WJ.
Bill Gertz is on now.
An example is that he disarmed Kerry by acting reluctant to ask about his appointments then at the end of the interview he has some hard hitting questions.
