And, I read that she isn't a George Bush fan, but is telling the truth, despite her non-support of W.

Over here.

Seems that MSM is spinning up a new line of defense.

The documents were forgeries, but they are forgeries of real documents.

Okay, so why not release the 'real' memos instead of the forgeries?

Huh?

And this all comes out after the documents are proven to be forgeries?

Would the MSM ever gone with these hearsay statements if there hadn't been a forged document controversy?

Are we in the Twilight Zone or something?

I've had this thought for a few days. Perhaps the original memo's were unreadable, or maybe they were longer and said things folks like Rather would just as soon not get out. So rather than releasing the originals, they just retype them and release the newer version. One that is more readable, and more accurately supports the story they are creating. But now, they face a dilemma. If they admit the documents are re-typed copies of the originals, they are admiting they forged documents. If they don't release the originals, they have to stand by obvious forgeries. There is no easy way out of the situation they've built for themselves. Either way, they lose credibility. Either way, Rather is done.

Basically a sh*t sandwich with no bread. Couldn't happen to a nicer group of people.

The problem with that theory is the Colonel mentioned. He had retired by the date shown.

Note, they have a new witness to quote on what was said about Bush:

"Another former Texas National Guard officer, Richard Via, also said that the documents were fakes but that their content reflected questions about Bush that were discussed at the time in the hangar at Ellington Air Force Base, where he had a desk next to Killian's.

Via said he and others he worked with "remember the physical, and him going to Alabama was an issue." He said Killian "made notes and put them in his files about things like that."

Killian kept the files because "he was trying to cover his ass," Via said. "He was always worried something would come back on him."

He said Killian's secretary "would type them up, and he'd put it in his desk drawer and lock it.""

Anybody ask this nice old lady what version of Microsoft Word she was running back in 72?

He said Killian's secretary "would type them up, and he'd put it in his desk drawer and lock
it."

Must have been space aliens so advanced they had time travel to make Microsoft word documents but so sloppy they quote people who have already retired years ago as applying pressure!

You really don't need all these Rube Goldburg theories. The truth is simple. The Kerry campaign wanted to libel Bush and the Redstream press wanted to believe the lies. They got most of the facts straight , but , as is the problem with all lies , the contradictions reveal themselves in spite of the best criminal efforts to remove them: somebody will think of something the forger didn't.

The lady said the memos were fake. They just had a content that had a nexus with what Killian thought.

They're not doing themselves any favors by digging out all these liars. They get more moronic by the moment with their drivel. Now this guy was accutely aware of everything Killian and his secretary did. Looks to me like a well orchestrated cover-story...a bit too neat how there's now a guy to corroborate the old lady...it openly looks like a created and manufactured story.

LOL, what a coincidence. Did anybody ask if it was SOP for the Colonel to discuss his troops with the secretary? Or did she simply remember typing this particular nexus some 32 years ago. :-}

Well, when she gets on the tube, I guess we can all judge for ourselves. But I do know that bosses tell their secretaries stuff, often stuff they don't tell their significant others.

So I've heard. :-} Can't wait for this drama. I wish the lady well but color me dubious. The wife and son are 180 out from her take on Killians take on W.

And since I do my talking to my wife, who am I to believe? LOL

IF she goes on the tube. By this evening, her son was waving reporters off and said she's done answering questions.

Could mean that or it could mean she's being prepped/coached. Sheesh.

This is unreal.

Killian, after he typed a personal memo, used to always take it over and show the secretary. It used to drive her nuts because she could never figure out how Killian was getting the proportional spacing.

In terms of reading Killian's "true" thoughts, wouldn't it be proper context to look at his glowing reports of GWB which are contained in the actual military file?
